Wyatt laughed softly," it's true though maybe they will." He told her putting his keys in his pockets and then walking into the building with her. He chuckled softly," yeah yeah you sure told me." He muttered
Sofia sighed a little, holding him close for a few more minutes. "We really have to get ready now, Jake. It won't be good if you're late." She said softly and kissed him one more time before reluctantly pulling away from him. She put on a little bit of makeup and found her white pair of converse to wear. "I don't have anything blue to go with this outfit." She mused with a smal frown- just finding something else to focus on so she wouldn't have to think about what was actually happening.
Jake nodded slightly," yeah I know." He replied quietly. He sighed softly and pulled away from her after kissing her gently. He went to grab his other shirt and then looked over at Sofia. He smiled slightly," put that blue necklace I got you on." He told her. "It might not be all blue but it will work."
Brody laughed a little. "Really?" He asked, stealing a fry from her plate. "How so?" He wondered. He had missed this side of his best friend. When she had been with Allen, she didn't laugh or smile as much. She always seemed distracted or worried about something. He was so glad that man was finally out of her life for good.
Joelle laughed," Hey that's mine." She teased then shrugged a little bit." I don't know she just reminded me of the way you are." She replied," It's hard to explain really." She muttered as she went to finish her sandwich. "Ohhh like her mannerisms are like yours."
Grace filled out the papers as fast as she could, and then got up to turn them in. They were then taken to one of the rooms, which was surprisingly large. There was an actual hospital bed instead of the hard examination table that was usually in doctors offices. She sat on the edge of the bed to wait, kicking her feet a little "Did you bring anything to do if you get bored?" She wondered. They had warned her that it could take a few hours, depending on how fast her body took the treatment.
Sofia looked up at him and gave him a genuine smile. "That's a great idea, babe. Thank you." She said happily an went to her jewelry box. The pretty blue stone was one of her most prized possessions. She was glad she could wear it today. Her breath caught when the doorbell rang. "That must be Kyle." She said softly and looked up at Jake. Was it time to leave already?
Brody winked at her playfully as he ate her fry, getting up to throw his trash away. "Oh really? Hm, I'll have to meet this nurse." He mused and returned to his chair, sighing happily. He could honestly probably fall asleep for another nap with how full he was now.
Wyatt watched her just being there for moral support. He followed her into the room and looked around then shrugged a little bit," no I didn't but I'll be alright I have my phone and I can always take yours too." He replied," I wasn't thinking about myself when I was packing up stuff last night."
Jake laughed softly," Yeah I come up with those every once in a while." He replied with a smile. He pulled on his socks and then looked at the door," I suppose it is that time." He said softly
Joelle laughed softly and then nodded again as she was chewing her food. "I guess you will.... She will be here for the rest of the day." she replied then pushed the little table away from her. "Okay I'm tired again." she muttered
Grace shrugged a little. "Well hopefully we won't be here too long. I have a book too that you can read." She suggested. She didn't think it was weird for Wyatt to take his phone- he had an old phone that died quickly so he used hers all the time. She looked up as a nurse came in, carrying a few IV bags. "Hi, Grace. Are you ready to get started?" Grace nodded quietly and sat back on the bed.
Sofia smiled back at him, grateful to see his gorgeous smile one more time before they left. "Come on." She said softly with a sigh and held her hand out for him. She held his hand tightly as she opened the door for Lyle, forcing a smile for him. "Hey, Kyle. Thanks for driving." She murmured, stepping aside so the brothers could greet each other.
Brody laughed a little. "Yea, me too." He said and got up to clean her stuff up for her. He turned on the tv to some game show they liked to watch and sat down next to her again. "You can take a little nap if you want." He suggested
Wyatt nodded slightly," Okay what book?" He asked not about to read some girlie book even if he was bored out of his mind. He sighed a little not thinking it was at all strange he was on her phone a lot. He needed to get a new phone but he just didn't have the time or energy to get one when he got off work. He looked up as the nurse walked in. Wyatt looked at Gracie but moved out of the way so the nurse could get to her
Jake took her hand and nodded," Yeah time to go face the music." He replied looking at her. He did give her one last smile though as they walked out of the room and to open the door together. Kyle looked like Jake but was a year older and had blue eyes and light blonde hair while jake had brown eyes and dark blonde hair. "It's not a problem Sofia." He said with a small smile before he greeted his brother
Jake smiled," But thanks Kyle."
Joelle settled back into her bed and sighed softly as he cleaned up," you know I could get used to having you as a servant." She said with a grin. She nodded," I might I'm not sure yet." She replied referring to his suggestion about a nap.
Grace giggled a little at the expression on his face. "Great Expectations. It's good." she defended, pulling her knees up to her chest as the nurse inserted an IV. "This one is just saline, and I'll come in in a few minutes to start the medicine, okay?" she said with a kind smile. Grace smiled back at her and nodded, looking down at where the IV went into her arm. "I've never had one of these before." she mused.
Sofia went to the kitchen to take her prenatal medicines before she forgot, leaving the two boys to talk a little. She meandered back in a few minutes later, snaking her arm through Jake's. She had never talked much to Kyle, but he seemed like a decent person. He was a little cocky sometimes and that was kind of annoying, but other than that she didn't really know him too well. "Is there anything else you need?" she wondered, glancing at his large bag that was sitting by the front door.
Brody rolled his eyes. "Yea, well don't you get used to it. You're going to owe me big time for this." he teased and smiled over at her. . "You might have a hard time sleeping tonight if you keep taking naps. Then again, you might not." he said and shrugged a little. "Whatever you want to do is cool with me."
Wyatt nodded slightly," Okay I was expecting you to have some girlie book." He teased her softly. He glanced over at the nurse as she went to work hooking the IV up and once she left he moved around to the other side of Grace so he could hold her hand a little," Well I've never had one either." He replied," maybe you should relax and read the book." He told her softly
Jake watched as Sofia left to walk into the kitchen and then looked back at his older brother. They spoke softly for a few minutes Jake telling Kyle what he had been thinking the night before and what he wanted Kyle to do to help Sofia as much as he could. Kyle agreed with everything Jake told him but didn't like to think about anything happening to Jake while he was away. It would break Sofia's heart along with putting Kyle in a position he didn't want to even think about. Jake looked down at his fiancé as she wrapped her arms around his. "No just a bag big enough to fit you." He replied
Joelle laughed softly," I will not.... You are a big pushover," she replied teasing him a bit more. Just acting like they normally would together was helping Joelle cope more than any medicines or visits to a therapist would. She shrugged," I'm not sure what I'm going to do about taking another nap I might not."
Grace rolled her eyes but smiled over at him. "And I was expecting you to be less shallow." she teased and squeezed his hand when he took it. "I'm okay, Wyatt. I'm relaxing talking to you." she said softly with a small smile. "This thing kinda stung a little, but other than that I feel great." she said honestly and picked up the hand with the IV in it, studying it curiously.
Sofia knew they had been talking about her from their hushed voices and the way they stopped conversing when she walked back into the room. She was curious, but wasn't about to ask about it right now. She smiled a little at Jake, rolling her eyes. "I don't think they make elephant sized bags. Sorry, love." she murmured and kissed his shoulder gently, running one of her hands over her stomach, which felt extra heavy today. "Are we ready to go then?" she asked with a sigh, glancing over the living room. It wouldn't be the same without Jake here. It would be so empty, probably even after Kaden was there with her.
Brody scoffed. "Only because you like to push me a lot!" he argued and laughed a little, sitting back down in the chair. "It's whatever, Jo. You don't have to sleep if you don't want to, or you can just fall asleep. It's not like we're doing anything else." he said honestly and shrugged a little.
Wyatt laughed softly,"What?" He asked. "I'm just saying I didn't want to read some cheesy romance thing." He replied as he looked at her sitting beside her," Okay as long as you are alright I'll just sit here and talk to you about some different things then." He replied with a smile Joelle laughed softly," really? I dont just push you around." She replied giggling," I know but I'm not sure if I will fall asleep or not but if I fall asleep I have a feeling ill be alright going to sleep tonight too." She answered
Jake chuckled softly," really?" He asked," Well you are certainly more pretty than an elephant," he replied kissing her head gently. He was glad that she was still joking a little bit even though he was getting ready to leave. Kyle looked at his bag," is this all you are bringing?" He asked picking it up. Jake nodded," yeah." He replied
The nurse returned with three more bags filled with clear fluid. She attached them and inserted more IVs into Grace's arm. Grace frowned down at them, but didn't say anything. "Now, this will probably make you pretty tired, but that is normal. If you feel nauseous or anything else, please let us know. There is probably a preventative medication that can stop whatever it is that's bothering you." she explained and made sure they didn't have any questions before leaving. Grace sighed and laid her arm down by her side, careful not to move the tubes. "Like what kind of different things do you want to talk about?" she asked, looking over at him.
"You're a very pushy person, Jo. You do it all the time." Brody teased nonchalantly and winked without looking over at her, shrugging a little. "Like I said, it's not like we're doing anything anyway. Do as your heart pleases." he said and laughed a little.
"Why thank you." Sofia murmured and smiled up at him. She sighed as Kyle picked up the bag. "Are we ready then?" She asked, grabbing her keys and opening the door. "It'll be better that we go and talk there if we have time, anyway. We don't want to be late." she said honestly, not wanting Jake to get in any kind of trouble.
Wyatt watched as the nurse put more IVs in her arm. He winced a little bit and then shrugged," I don't care what we talk about as long as you are alright.. Or we could play a game on your phone." He said softly looking at her. Joelle giggled and looked at him," yeah yeah whatever you say." She replied then she shrugged again," okay well I know but I do want to do something else today other than just sleeping." She commented," but I can't get up without feeling like I'm about to fall over because my legs feel like jello."
Jake nodded," Yeah okay then let's get going before I think of another way for me to stay home or at least put all of this off a little longer." He muttered Kyle smiled faintly," alright let's go." He said," it will all be fine J.. I'll take care of her and you take care of yourself."
"I'm fine, Wyatt." Grace said softly and reached out to take his hand, squeezing it gently. "You can come up here with me if you want." she suggested, scooting over on the large bed. There was more than enough room for Wyatt to slip in beside her. "I don't really want to play a game." she admitted. "How is your mother doing? I haven't seen her in a while."
Brody sighed. "I'm not sure you're really supposed to do anything, Jo. What else would you want to do?" he wondered, looking over at her for a moment as he flipped through the channels.
"I can take care of myself too." Sofia mumbled as they made their way to Kyle's truck. She got into the backseat and motioned for Jake to sit back there with her, not wanting to be away from him during the short ride if she didn't have to. "I brought these for you." she said softly, holding out two small pictures in her palm. One was of the two of them on the day they had gotten engaged, with a sweet note on the back of it. The other was the most recent picture she had of Kaden. Both were wrapped in clear tape so they would be harder to tear or stain. "Maybe we will give you some luck." she told him softly, tears welling in her eyes.

Wyatt nodded slightly. " okay as long as you are still alright." He said softly holding her hand a little. "Do you think I can fit there with you?" He asked sitting on the edge of the bed with her," I mean I will if you want me to." He told her softly. Wyatt shrugged," my mom is the same as she always is.. I mean she's super busy and always carting Kayla around with her." He said
Joelle shrugged," I don't know something to get me out of this room.. I'm starting to think that I'm the only patient in this whole hospital." She complained. She looked back at Brody," I should have asked you to get a few movies while you were out then maybe I wouldn't be as bored out of my mind. "
Jake looked at her and nodded," well I know you can because you can take care of me and yourself and I have worse problems than you do." He told her with a small smile. He climbed into the back with her and wrapped his arm around her bit willing to let her get away from him for too long. He looked down at the pictures she was holding out to him and smiled a little sadly. "Good luck charms." He said softly taking them from her while Kyle drove them. "I'll keep them with me all the time."
((It's okay@ I understand :) ))"I'm positive you can fit." Gracee said with a small smile. "But you don't have to sit with me if you don't want to. It was just a suggestion." she said with a shrug. "I feel bad for your mom sometimes. I know she says she likes being busy, but she always seems kind of worn out whenever I see her." she mused, pressing the button to lean the bed back a little more.
Wyatt nodded and laid down beside her." This is so much better than the chair." He muttered with a small smile for her. Wyatt sighed softly," I don't know Gracie my mom has always been like that wanting to stay busy but then once she goes to sleep you can't wake her up so it's hard on all of us since we just have her."
"I can always go rent some, if you want. There's a place not too far away." Brody replied and shrugged a little. "And you can ask if you're allowed to walk around. In a wheelchair, maybe." he suggested, really not sure what all she could do. He glanced up when there was a knock on the door and her parents strolled in. "Well, there's a distraction." he mumbled under his breath.
"Good." Sofia murmured and leaned over to kiss his shoulder. "Hopefully they will remind you of what is waiting for you back here." she said softly. "Plus, they'll keep all the girls away. This guy is taken, don't bother trying." she said playfully and smiled a little, squeezing his arm. She frowned again as they pulled into a parking lot, holding onto him a little tighter.
Grace giggled. "I'm glad you think so." she said with a smile and filled in the space between them once he was settled onto the bed. "I know it's hard. You're such a good big brother to Kayla, though, even when your mom isn't around." she said softly and gave his hand a reassuring squeeze. "Have you ever talked to her about it? Told her you wished she was around more?"
Joelle nodded a little bit," could you? When they leave?" She asked as her parents walked through the door after knocking. She really didn't want them around with her and Brody because they often made things worse and argued with her about having Brody being around
Jake chuckled softly," well I will always know what's waiting for me back home." He said softly," I've been with you for how long now?" He asked," I couldn't forget about you ever." He told her softly. Jake frowned a little bit as they pulled into the parking lot. He looked at Sofia and sighed softly," I'm not leaving you while I'm away." He muttered
Wyatt smiled a little bit as he laid next to his girlfriend. " thanks I would like to think I'm a good older brother," he replied," I have talked to her but you know my mom she just wants us to have the best life she can give us"
Brody nodded to her parents, standing up and rubbing his hands on his jeans. "I can go ahead and go now." he told Joelle softly, not really wanting to be there with her parents. He knew they had no reason to hate him, but Joelle's parents always made him feel bad about himself. It would probably be easier on Joelle if he wasn't there anyway. "I'll see you later, Jo." he said and gave her a soft smile. "Goodnight." he nodded to her parents before exiting the room.
