Sofia leaned into his embrace, a soft sigh escaping her lips as well. "I know, honey. They're good guys though. If you can't be with me, I'm glad you'll be with them." She told him, her eyelids drooping despite her efforts to keep them open. "Mm, you should blow those candles out before we fall asleep and burn the house down." She murmured, too comfortable to move and do it herself.

Wyatt shrugged a little bit grabbing his bag and walking with her to the door," I don't care wherever you want to go." He replied looking over at her as w walked out the door to his car with her." Do you actually want to eat or should we just go to Sally's and get you a smoothie of some kind?" He asked looked at her
Joelle nodded a little bit as she looked at him and sighed," I know that Brody." She answered," I know but it's hard for me to remember it." She replied
Grace locked the door behind them, tossing her keys into the small bag she had put together before leaving.she but her lip a little and blushed as she glanced over at Wyatt. Was she really that obvious or did he just know her that well? "I think I'd rather go to Sally's." She admitted as she climbed into the passenger seat. "I don't really feel like eating a big breakfast." She explained, leaning her head back against the seat and turning it to look at Wyatt as he drove. "Have you ever had their pancakes? They're really good." She told him, hoping he would still eat as much as he wanted even though she wasn't eating.
Brody gave her a small reassuring smile. "Well that's what I'm here for. To remind you that you're safe whenever you forget." He said softly and winked at her, sighing as he leaned back in the chair. "Did they say how long they wanted you to stay here for?" He wondered, it sure if it would e better or worse for her when she got home.
Wyatt watched her for a second before unlocking his car and putting his stuff in the back. He looked over at her as she got into the car and nodded," Alright then Sally's it is." He replied starting his car and pulling out of the driveway. "Yeah I know I wouldn't feel like eating all that much if I was going to the doctor today either." He replied reaching over and tapping her leg gently. "Yeah I have they are really good." He said as he drove towards their favorite restaurant to just hang out. Wyatt just knew how Gracie was and since they had known each other for years he could just see her emotions in her eyes and on her face, but that's because he just knew her so well
Joelle smiled just slightly and nodded," I know that's what you are for." She quipped softly. "Umm I for remember if they said anything to me or not.. I don't remember too much from yesterday night just bits and pieces." She said still softly as her voice was still hoarse from the day before and her talking so much right then. Joelle sighed softly as she laid back staring unseeingly at the tv that Brody had turned on. She wasn't sure if she would be able to be in her house no matter how much she loved it not after Allen broke in and put her in the hospital.
Grace giggled a little. "I think they should just make us our own little table and not let anybody else sit there. We've been going there long enough." she mused, resting her hand on top of his when he touched her thigh. They had been going to Sally's ever since they were old enough to go places by themselves. They ate a meal there sometimes, but mostly they just went to talk and eat some dessert or a shake. Grace loved the warm lighting, homey atmosphere and friendly people they always found there.
Brody nodded. "I wouldn't worry about it. They're not going to let you stay here longer than you need to." he said softly. He knew going home would be a challenge either way, but they would just have to figure it out when they got there. "One step at a time, Jo." he said and gave her small smile. As long as she was getting better, he considered it a step in the right direction. "Are you still tired?" he wondered. "You can go back to sleep if you want. I don't mind." he said and shrugged a little. He wouldn't mind a nap himself, if he could manage to fall asleep.

Wyatt chuckled softly and nodded," yeah they should I mean like everyone who works there knows who we are." He answered," I think that this will be a surprise for them since we are actually eating a real meal there." He answered glancing at her for a second. He smiled thinking of all the fun times they had there whether they were just studying together or actually just hanging out because they didn't want to go home. Wyatt pulled into the parking lot. "Milady we have arrived at breakfast." He stated grinning at her.
Joelle nodded," Yeah I know that Brody but that doesn't help the fact that I really don't like hospitals." She answered not really wanting to talk about going home just yet she wasn't ready to do that. Jo looked over at him and nodded slightly," I guess so." She sighed softly knowing it was going to be a long road to getting back to herself and everything. "I could use a little nap I suppose." She mused quietly. Joelle yawned and looked at the mask next to her bed," you think I have to wear that while I'm sleeping?" She asked looking back up at Brody
((Hahaha I totally missed that one!!)) Jake smiled a little bit," well I'm glad you like my unit." He replied," they like you too" he was surprised at how many of them had talked to him about helping Sofia out while he was away if they didn't go back out. Most of the guys in his unit were either married or seriously dating someone so he didn't mind them coming over to check on Sofia while he was away and he trusted them with his life as only half of them were needed for this tour. He looked back down at her," mmmm okay I'll blow them out." He answered shifting a little and leaning across her to blow one candle out and then rolling back over to blow the other one out," goodnight my love." He whispered kissing her head
Grace smiled back at him. "Why thank you, kind sir." she replied playfully and leaned across the car to kiss his cheek lightly. She got out of the car and looked at the building, a small smile crossing her face. Sally's really did hold so many fond memories. If you thought about it, this place like the home of their relationship. Iy was still a little weird to call Wyatt her boyfriend, but it was fitting that this was there first place they went as an official couple.
Brody sighed. "I'm afraid I can't help you with that one, Jo." he muttered, staring at the TV without really watching it. She could either stay in the hospital so she didn't have go to home, or go home so she couldn't stay in the hospital. But she didn't like either place, so his options were limited there. He got up to turn off the light. He looked at her for a moment and shook his head. "I think you could cheat a little and leave it off for now." he said softly. She was already so down, he didn't want to make her do something else she didn't want to do.
"Of course they like me." Sofia murmured sleepily, her mouth twitching into a little smile. She pulled the sheets back over them when he laid back down, her one arm wrapping around Jake. He wasn't going to be moving to his side of the bed tonight, she'd decided. "Goodnight, Jake. I love you." she whispered and nuzzled her face into his shoulder, breathing in his unique Jake smell. She was going to take as much of him in tonight as she could, and hopefully she would be able to recall what this felt like when her bed was empty.
Wyatt laughed softly and started to get out if the car after her. "Come on silly and let's get something to eat." He told her slipping his arm around her once she was out of the car. Wyatt thought this was a fitting place to take her on a first day out together. Even though they always went there it was just a place they had so many good times and memories that it was fitting to de there for a first date of sorts.
Joelle sighed a little bit," well I know you can't help with that." She replied," but maybe you can stay with me for a few days when I get out of here?" She asked looking at him hopefully. She laid down at he turned the lights off and nodded," Okay but you get some sleep too Brody." She said softly putting the mask next to her just in case. Joelle really didn't know what she wanted to do now
Grace leaned against him a little as they walked inside, a small smile remaining on her face. They made their way to a little booth by one of the windows, their usual favorite spot. They had spent hours upon hours in this same spot- talking, studying, playing games. She sat down across from Wyatt, playing with a little knick in the wooden table. "I'm just going to get a strawberry shake. What are you going to eat?"
Brody looked over at her with soft eyes as he returned to the chair. "Of course I will stay with you; whatever you need." He said honestly. "You could even stay at my place for a few days if you wanted." He mused with a shrug. He wasn't sure if it would help her get over her fears, but be would gladly open his home to her if that's what she needed. "And I'm definitely taking a nap right now, don't you worry." He replied and chuckled a little, running a hand over his tired eyes.
Jake chuckled softly," I would hope they like you." He answered looking at her with a small smile. He settled back next to her and put his arm around her not intending to move away from her at all that night. "Good night Sofia and I love you too" he said quietly. Jake stayed close to her as he fell asleep keeping his nose touching the top of her head
Wyatt smiled a little bit as he walked into the cafe with her. He smiled a little bit at one of the waitresses as they sat down at their usual table. He looked over at Grace and shrugged a little bit. "Ohhh I was thinking about getting their eggs and waffles and a smoothie of some sort." He replied. "You should eat a little more than just a strawberry smoothie Gracie." He told her softly
Sofia slept peacefully until about 4 in the morning when Kaden woke her up with his jerky movements. She sighed softly and looked up at Jake, being careful not to wake him up. She smiled as she watched him sleep, memorizing every line of his relaxed face. She realized, however, that she is going to have to get up to use the restroom. Sofia carefully slid out from under his arm, grabbing a towel that had been discarded on the chair to wrap around her naked body. She used the restroom without turning on the lights so he would hopefully stay sleeping peacefully. She fished some underwear out of her dresser and put them on before sneaking back into bed, placing her arm on top of Jake's so they would still be touching as she struggled to fall back to sleep.
Joelle smiled a little bit and nodded,"okay well I think I will be alright for now but maybe for a day or two." She replied as she pulled the blankets over her small body slowly. She sighed a little bit and nodded," Good... Night Brody and thank you for everything."
Grace frowned a little, resting her head in one and as she gazed down at the menu, nothing on there looking very appetizing at all. Her stomach was so uneasy, she was afraid she wouldn't be able to hold down anything substantial. "Ummm....I could probably eat the fruit salad. If you promise to finish some of it for me." she said and laughed a little, glancing up at him with a small smile.
Brody reached out and rested his and on hers gently, smiling as he reclined on the chair, propping his feet up on her bed again. "Anything for you, Jo." he said honestly and winked at her before settling back and closing his eyes. He was glad she was at least in a better mood now; he just had to make sure he helped her stay that way.
Jake sighed softly as he was still sleeping peacefully with his arms wrapped loosely around Sofia with a small smile. He groaned a little bit as she moved out from under his arms. He opened his eyes a little bit," Sof?" He asked softly as she got back into bed with her
Sofia frowned when she heard his groan, really not wanting to wake him up. "I'm sorry, baby. I just had to use the restroom." she said quietly and cuddled back against his side. "I didn't mean to wake you up. Baby is being pretty demanding tonight." she admitted and kissed his shoulder gently. "Go back to sleep, honey." she whispered and rubbed his chest lightly, knowing he liked it when she did that. It was kind of hitting her that in a few hours, she would be saying goodbye to this amazing man.
Joelle smiled a little bit at him. "Still." She replied softly turning her hand under his and smiling a little more at him as she held his hand a little and slowly closed her eyes
Brody blinked a little when she started to hold his hand, surprised. His lips twitched into a small smile as she fell asleep and he settled in beside her. Her curled his fingers around her small hand a little- his knuckles were still bandaged tight- and fell asleep quickly, finally getting some rest after the sleepless night.
Wyatt watched her. He nodded a little bit," you could do that or you can just eat some of mine." He offered. "Gracie I know you don't want to eat but i think you should eat a little bit." He told her softly looking at her and reaching across the table for her hand. Wyatt looked at her with a gentle smile. He didn't want her to he upset or anything. He just wanted her to be okay and he figured he just needed to keep her happy
Grace smiled a little and squeezed his hand gently. It was sweet how concerned he was for her. To please him, she would try to eat. "I know, Wyatt. I'll get the fruit, and I'll eat it all." she said dramatically and giggled slightly. She smiled up at their waitress and ordered the fruit salad and a strawberry shake, train the veins in the back of Wyatt's hand as he ordered for himself.
Jake nodded a little bit and sighed softly wrapping his arms back around her. "It's okay I just didn't expect you to get up but I guess I should know by now." He replied chuckling softly and looking at her with a sleepy grin. He yawned a little and stretched before settling back into bed with her," Okay I love you." He whispered kissing her nose softly and pulling her close before closing his eyes and slowly going back to sleep with his arm around her
Sofia smiled, closing her eyes as he kissed her nose. "Love you." she replied softly and rested her head by his shoulder, continuing to stroke his chest gently. It was hard for her to fall asleep with the weight of tomorrow hanging over her. A few tears leaked from her face onto his skin sometime during the night, and she gently wiped them away before kissing his skin gently. She held him tighter and eventually managed to fall asleep not long before they would have to be getting up.
Joelle smiled a little bit and curled up on her side holding his hand slightly as she slept. She didn't dream much but she coughed a few times after about two hours of sleeping. Joelle wasn't struggling to breath it was just getting a little hard for her to breath. She woke up coughing and grabbed the mask and put it over her face so it could help her breath a little bit more she was still holding Brody's hand gently
Wyatt laughed softly," thanks honey but just eat what you can and then I'll finish it for you." He replied squeezing her fingers gently and then ordering his waffles eggs an bacon a long with a strawberry banana smoothie. He looked over at her and smiled a bit," So after should we go back to my house or do you want to go home?"He asked looking at her
Jake smkled a bit as he went right back to sleep knowing that the morning would bring a new wave of pain as he had to leave her and Kaden for a six to seven month period. He sighed softly and just held her tightly as he went off back to a dreamless sleep with her next to him. He didn't know she was crying or had been for just a little bit or he would have been awake in a few seconds to just comfort her
Brody stayed fast asleep, the lack of sleep from the night before making it easy for him to knock out, even in that small chair. For some reason, he was much more comfortable sleeping now than he had been overnight. It was probably because there were more doctors and nurses around now than there had been- plus, nothing terrible had happened last night so he wasn't as nervous.
Grace shrugged, thinking about it. "It depends how I feel, I guess. I'm afraid Kayla will get upset if I show up and don't want to play with her." she admitted with a small laugh. She loved Wyatt's sister to death, but she was a stubborn little stinker when she didn't get what she wanted. She took her shake happily and started sucking on it as they waited for their food. "But it would be a pain to run into my dad, too. So either way is fine with me." she said and shrugged a little. Her mom liked Wyatt a lot, but her father had always disapproved of her having a boy for a best friend.
The alarm on Sofia's bedside table went off at 8 o'clock, playing a song from some radio station they listened to. Sofia just moved closer to Jake and wrapped her arms around him a little tighter, hearing the noise but not really awake enough to comprehend it. Her eyes were still a little raw- from crying or trying to fall asleep she didn't know. She moaned in irritation when the noise didn't stop, pulling the sheets closer around her. She had just fallen asleep, surely it wasn't time to wake up already.
After a bit Joelle stopped coughing and sighed looking over at her sleeping best friend. She felt kind of bad that he was in the position he was in because of her but she was glad that they were here together. She watched him as he slept running her long fingers over the back of his hand even though it was wrapped in a bunch of bandages. Joelle would never tell Brody how she had felt for him before everything with Allen and now it was all over she didn't know what she really felt anymore
Wyatt nodded," Well we would have that problem if Kayla was at home which she won't be until after my mom gets out of work because she's going over to her friends house for a play date." He replied with a small smile as he just took the hand that she wasn't playing with and grabbed his cup. "So it's up to you I don't care I'm just the driver today." Wyatt told her with a smile. "I'll go wherever you want within reason." He commented before she could make some weird remark about wanting to go to the moon or something
Brody's hand twitched a little when she touched it, but a slight smile crossed his face in his sleep. He had never allowed himself to have true feelings for Joelle, though he knew they were there. She wouldn't be his best friend if he didn't like almost everything about her. He had never pushed his luck, though, and he really didn't mind. Having Joelle as his best friend was enough for now. He began to wake up around an hour later, shifting in the chair and wincing a little at the stiffness in his back. He blinked opened his eyes and looked around the room, wondering how long he had been asleep.
Jake groaned softly as her alarm started to go off. He opened one eye and reached across her to shut the thing off just like he always did. He pulled her close and snuggled into her again closing his eyes. Jake was definitely not ready to face the day yet. He was still tired as he had woken up just before she had gotten up to go to the bathroom and laid there plagued with worries that he shouldn't have been thinking about right then and he didn't want to wake Sofia to talk to her about them so he just thought until he was finally almost asleep and she moved away from him. It wasn't her fault but he then slept somewhat peacefully the rest of the night with her tucked close. Jake was not ready to leave her yet
Grace rolled her eyes and laughed a little. "Well I wanted to go to Hawaii, but I guess not.." she mumbled around her straw, feigning annoyance. "I guess we can just go back to your house then, at least for a little while. I'd like to have some time to recover and collect my thoughts or whatever before I have to go home to my parents." she said with a sigh. Her parents meant well, they really did, but her father was cross and her mother was just...different.
Joelle almost stopped touching his hand after he twitched but one look at his face told her it was alright to continue what she had been doing. She sighed softly and smiled a little bit as she just stayed close to his hand letting the dreams she had had before over take her memory. Joelle had often dreamed about what it would be like if her and Brody actually were a couple.. First they wouldn't be in this whole mess and second she wouldn't have to watch Brody with a different girl
Sofia frowned as she started to wake up, still wrapped in the blankets and Jake's arms. Maybe if the just stayed in bed and didn't show up, they would forget about Jake and leave without him. She entertained the idea for a few minutes before brushing it aside. Today was important, and she had to be strong for him. She caught herself falling asleep again a few minutes later and jumped awake, afraid too much time had passed already. She breathed a sigh of relief when she saw it had only been five minutes, but sighed as she looked down at her sleeping fiancee. "I think it's time to get up, baby." she said softly and leaned down to kiss his forehead once and then his lips gently.
Wyatt grinned," Maybe later I'll take you to Hawaii of we can find cheaper tickets." He replied looking at her with a grin," It is on our best summer or year bucket list or something like that." He told her," I'm pretty sure I still have that box in my closet we used to put all of those ideas in." Wyatt said taking another drink of his smoothie. " okay home we go then and then I'll take you to your house and when you go to bed if you need me around I'll just sneak in thru your window."
Jake thought about not showing up at the airport a few times or just hoping that he was dreaming and he could sleep a long time and not worry about having to be anyplace for awhile but he knew that was too good to be true but instead fell asleep again without meaning to. He slowly woke feeling Sofia jerk herself awake in his arms. He opened his eyes and shook his head slightly," No just like another hour." He muttered kissing her gently
Brody sighed as he finally was awake, rubbing his eyes. "Hey." he said sleepily and laughed a little, sitting up in the chair and stretching. "How did you sleep?" he wondered. "How long have I been asleep?" he asked, not having any clue as to how long it could've been. The room was dark, but the curtains were drawn so it could have been noon or midnight for all he knew. And he had been so tired that he could hardly remember falling asleep, let alone have an idea of how long he had been there.
