ᴛʜᴇʏ ᴀʀᴇ ᴄᴀʟʟᴇᴅ lucidites.
      ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

hidden ×× under ×× the ×× earth by the controllers, the lucidites are mutants who each possess an unnatural ability. the controllers have set up a training faculty, a school, if you will, for them to prepare in. the lucidites accept its presence with open arms, not sure how they got there. it is run by lucidites who believe in the mortals ;; they are paid heavily to work with the trainees. they believe the earth above them is still healthy.
they are wrong.
years and years in the past, the earth was destroyed by war and lies and manipulation. now, the people who are called controllers operate a safehaven, miles from the underground training center. the safehaven, one of the only untouched areas of the earth, is lush and beautiful. the people there are mortal, with no powers. they are brought from ruins, and are welcomed the to safehaven with open arms.
the lucidites are not.
trained to survive, once the controllers, who are always watching, decide they are ready, lucidites are released. they expect to see open fields of grass, blue skies and beautiful children.
they see dead grass, gray clouds, and ruins. they are told of the safehaven, of the wars that caused this destruction.
and then the controllers who let them out go back under. they lock the gates. the lucidites are left alone, staring and squinting at the shining haven, protected by a glass dome, in the distance. they are left to kill and hunt so they can make it there.
but the safehaven doesn't want lucidites. once there, they are shunned. locked up. killed. tortured. enslaved. or else they hide, wondering if the vicious cycle will ever stop. wondering how they couldn't have seen that the controllers just want them to die off, slowly for ×× their ×× own ×× amusement.
