Any favorite or memorable scenes?

I loved the interview with IAD. He made a fool out of Angel Brockman, who deserved it. And, Harry's finesse to avoid being searched to find Pounds' badge. He'd have been kicked off the force.

I also liked his fishing trip with Jake. Illuminated the entire case.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments I liked the developing relationship between Harry and Dr Hinojos, and thought their conversations were interesting and revealing. I also saw trust emerging between them and wonder if she'll be a recurring character in the future volumes.

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments Loved the whole Internal Affairs portion of the story. Wonder if Brockmann will crop up again in the next couple of books. Maybe the younger IAD officer will take Harry's advice and leave Internal Affairs for other police work.

Agreed. These conversations were the best part of the book for me too as he opened up to her and we get insights into his past at McLaren and the effect that the loss of his mother had on him.

Jim O'Donnell | 48 comments I laughed a little when I read the author's description of Harry discovering Merideth's suicide -- "She had taken the blue canoe."

It's the climactic moment of the darkest story we know thus far about Harry, with all his past and current troubles leading toward this point . . . the contrast of this cop colloquialism dropped into that surprised me and made this scene memorable.
