Do you believe Meredith was really sorry?

I'm not sure about this one. I never felt I really I knew much about Meredith. She played a small part and then suddenly became really important without too much information.

No, I don't believe she was sorry. She killed Marjorie in a jealous rage, helped cover up the murder, and later changed her name to hide. The fact that she did nothing for Marjorie's child speaks volumes. If she truly had regrets, she'd have fought for Harry.

In retrospect, I should have had her on my list. When Harry went to see her, I found her behavior odd. She behaved like a guilty person but I thought at the time it was because she hadn't kept in touch with Harry.

Yes with hindsight the clues were there. The author did a good job of deflecting our attention to other possibilities:)

You have good points there Jonetta. I did think that she was sorry but you have convinced me that if she really was she would have helped Harry.

I also thought she just felt guilty for not keeping in touch.

I found it extremely odd that she sent Harry the Christmas card after her husband died. What was her motive then? At that low emotional point, was she ready for Harry to learn the truth, then as time went on, did she harden again? Mystery to me.

I found that odd too, Charlene. Why send the Christmas card?

To me, the death of her husband triggered Meredith's latent guilt and she sent the Christmas card because she subconsciously or perhaps even consciously wanted Harry to discover the truth.

However, once she realized that Harry was actually going to look into it, she could live with the idea of his knowing and killed herself. It was the coward's way out.

I also found her behavior odd when Harry visited her but I thought it was because she had kept quiet about what she knew about Conklin not because she was the killer.
