Nenia Campbell (neniacampbell) | 165 comments I'm just curious - my books have several hundred ratings, and I'm pretty sure their meta-data has been edited but I still don't have rec widgets on the pages of any of my books. Is this a paid feature, or am I missing something?

I'm a nosy parker and I want to see what books people compare mine to...but I know some of my readers would find it helpful, as well. :D

Alex (ucbstirling) | 140 comments Hi Nenia,

It's not a paid feature, but there are a handful of algorithms which determine our book recommendations, and if there is not enough data no recommendations will show. Depending on the genre, it could take thousands of ratings and shelvings to get enough overlap among readers to generate recommendations.

We hope to be able to lower the recommendation threshold in the future, but it's probably still a ways out.

In the meantime, the best way to find books which readers find similar to yours is with your books' popular shelves.

Nenia Campbell (neniacampbell) | 165 comments Thanks so much for getting back to me!

I guess I will just have to be patient, then. One day, I will see the mystical book recommendations widget on my books' pages. One day...
