ABANDONED. Boy/Girl SciFi (maybe) book with computer hacking and a famous general father

Hello folks!

So, this book I read about a year ago, so I think it was published quite recently. It could have been an ebook or a "real" book, I can't remember which.

The book's protagonist was a girl. I believe she was found in a space ship?? maybe?? and had some holes in her memory of her life?? (that could all be wrong).

I remember she went to some school/cadet training place and was very good at computers.

She meets a boy (the son of a famous general) and, halfway through the story, he invites her home to his family's for the vacation. It turns out that the famous father is actually a horrible person and beats the son. The father also has some connection the girl's family—he thinks the boy has found out his secret when really both the girl and boy don't know anything about that connection.

I remember the girl witnesses the father beating up the boy and slips in to the window to look after him as he recovers. There's something about hacking too—one or the both of them get in trouble for hacking files on the computer at their school/training program.

I know that's all scattered, but if you've read the book, I'm sure it will ring bells. Thanks for your help!

Sometimes when I think of something with a similar theme, I'll look through the "similar to:" suggestions and get lucky.
