Silence... | 3 comments I sampled a book on Ibooks and was about to buy it but Ibooks updated and I lost the sample and can't find it anywhere now.
Features
1. science fiction
2. From what I remember the cover had a blonde female on it along with a black and red background
3. I know this is an Ibook but am unsure if there is an actual physical version made.
4. This book was probably published in 2011-very early 2013
5. The general plot was about a female science officer working on a ship in space until an alarm awoke her. The alarm was made by the ship to warn it's passengers that a malfunction had occurred in the ship and the workers had to escape. The protagonist got to an escape pod in time to escape the explosion and started drifting into space until she notices that her pod due to the blast was damaged and couldn't send out a signal for a rescue. She feverishly tries to fix the pod but to no avail and rescue never comes. After a month or two she is forced into a cryogenic freezing due to a diminishing food supply and a loss of hope.

And that's where the sample ends, if anyone can help me find this book I would be very happy :D it's been on my mind for awhile.

Serendi This is NOT likely, but still...

Written years ago, some details wrong, but The Death of Sleep opens with Lunzie Mespil, ship's doctor, heading off in an escape pod after the ship is hit by apparent asteroids, getting separated from the rest, can communicate briefly until there's interference, puts herself into cryogenic sleep. This is the first book of the Planet Pirates series.

Still, emergencies leading to escape pods and cryogenic sleep happen a lot in space-based SF. So who knows?

June 6th, 2267 - A life-pod, missed by rescuers following the mysterious explosion of a Space Command vessel a decade earlier, is discovered by a passing freighter in deep space. A young officer, still cocooned in stasis sleep, is found inside. When revived, Ensign Jenetta Carver learns of the lawlessness that now suffuses interstellar space. Pirates and slavers seem able to attack and pillage with impunity. Space Command has committed its full resources to stopping the anarchy, but criminal groups have grown immensely powerful.

Although determined to rejoin SC as soon as possible, Jenetta is captured by pirates before that can happen. At first she fears for her life, but when she's indelibly marked as a pleasure slave, she gets mad; fighting mad. And when they tamper with her DNA to make her appear sexier, she gets even madder; killing mad.

Can a petite blonde, cut off from Space Command, create more mayhem among the criminal elements than a full decade of SC effort? You'd better believe it!

Hope this is the right book reply if you are happy:)
