What Would The Perfect Library Be Like?

Aren't there No Cell Phone rules??
I thought that was universally acknowledged.
I mean, come on. If you can't have your cell phone on in a movie theater...

My ideal local library would have a bookstore attached. I don't mind buying the latest thriller if it isn't in the library and with design and cookery books, if I borrow I like, I want to own it.

I think to be perfect, really perfect, a library would have to have a perfectly preserved copy of every book every written. The it would be perfectly complete. And I would want it to be perfectly comfortable, with couches and easy chairs and big desks, huge table to spread out at, classical music at just the right volume, non-glare lighting at just the right angle. Also, it would have a cafe that sold tea and coffee and snacks and soda and you could stay there all day and long into the night, because it's open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

did you guys know that a few libraries have people you can check out? I'm serious. Like say I was a sea captain who was shipwrecked off the coast of Africa and survived alone for a year before I was rescued, people could "check me out" for 30 minutes and question me about my experience. Wouldn't that be awesome. People show up, put what they are willing to be questioned about on a list on a board and then patrons check them out for 30 minute intervals and talk first hand and candidly about the subject. I would love to do that--be the "book" and be one checking out "books".
