This buddy read for the sequel of Ashes will start on Friday, Sept. 20th!

This buddy read is open to everyone who would like to join in!! There are no set chapters per day, we just read at our own paces and start each post with how far along you are, i.e., Chapter #, %, using spoilers where needed. Have fun!

It was awesome development getting his flashbacks :) The Alex one was crazy and I can't believe they ate a chunk of her, ugh! And Chris has a twin that's Changed? Weird! (hide spoiler)]

LOL, David! I finally finished my reread of Ashes and plan to start my reread of Shadows tonight (sshhhh...) It's been a year and I don't remember much. My brain is useless lately.

I just finished the part where the Changed kids just ate part of Alex. OMG. I think Ilsa and Michael Grant must be married or twins or something. UGH!!

I really don't have much recollection of this book until I read the chapters and then it's Oh yea... I do remember never being able to predict what happened next. So many twists and turns. This is so much better reading them one after the other instead of a year in between! (hide spoiler)]

I'm on chapter 18, I'm not sure about this novel, I'm a bit lost. To many points of views, I'm over here and then over there. And in Chris and Lena's POV there are to many people talking, people I'm not quite sure of because Ive heard their name a couple times. I do however like Alex's POV even tho its pretty gruesome. And where the heck is Tom? I forgot his name even and had to scroll up because someone mentioned his name in a post. I will keep going tho, something's might get clearer. Also let's punch Chris' grandpa in the face! Who's a bad grandpa?! He is defiantly a good character to hate!

I'm only 20% in and the author is definitely not skimping on the gross-out scenes. I like it so far, although it took me a few chapters to get used to the POV switching. I actually like it now, it's interesting to see what's happening from the different POVs.

Yeah, it took me a little bit too, I think just because the first book was all one POV so we were used to it. But I'm totally on board with it too, love seeing all the different stuff going on!

I wondered that about Gone when you all were talking about one of the books. And you'd think a zombie book would be really gross, but hey, if it's nothing compared to this, I'd be up for it.

I finished the book. I didn't really enjoy it, it was just all over the map for me. I don't like reading like that. to much going on and to many characters, it makes it hard to care about any of the characters when its like that.
In ashes I liked Alex and Tom and grew to like Ellie.
In this novel,focus was on the main characters but not enough for me to develope feelings for them. The first novel was much better.

Geez speedy! I'm at 42% and I'm wondering (view spoiler)[ why the heck Tom went to the frozen water to help the guy that was TRYING TO KILL HIM and ALREADY KILLED HIS FRIENDS! There's such a thing as being too chivalrous and that was just plain dumb. He almost died because of it, but I'm glad the dog helped him get out, that was cute :) (hide spoiler)]

Karen and Jenny should weigh in on this too, but I didn't find Benny Imura overly gross? I thought Gone was grosser, but SO GOOD!

I thought Gone was much grosser, but not as gross as this. Benny Imara was somewhat gross, but not nearly as bad! I really loved the Benny Imara series, its definitely the best zombie series I've read!
