Megan, are you talking about the books that are about Nancy Drew when she was a kid? I'm not sure if I've read one of those.

The Phantom of Pine Hill sounds pretty cool! :-)

Charmaine (empress_charla) | 335 comments Mod
Scuba diving? Sounds pretty interesting! :-) I haven't read a Nancy book in a while. Well, I did read all of the graphic novels, but I'm referring to the normal classic books. :-)

message 64: by Meredith (new)

Meredith Yes, to be truthful, I haven't either. It's mostly because I haven't gotten my hands on a new one in a while.... :'(

message 65: by Katie (new)

Katie I haven't read one since July.

message 66: by Katie (new)

Katie I need to start #18 soon!

message 67: by Meredith (new)

Meredith Hmm, I can't remember which one that is. Could you fill me in?

I miss reading Nancy Drew! :-( I'm busy reading other books, but I hope to read Nancy again sometime soon! Are any of you reading Nancy Drew books right now?

message 69: by Meredith (new)

Meredith Ahhh, YES! My AWESOME aunt April came last weekend and brought me I think 9 new books!!!!!!! Yay, I've already read Nancy's Mysterious Letter which I thought was good but could have rapped up everything a little better. Now for The Spider Sapphire Mystery!

message 70: by Meredith (new)

Meredith Spider Sapphire was really good and so was Clue in the Jewel Box!

message 71: by Charmaine (new)

Charmaine (empress_charla) | 335 comments Mod
Awesome, Meredith! That was really nice of your aunt to give you more Nancy books! :-D I'm looking forward to reading the Spider Sapphire & the Clue in the Jewel Box! :-) Which Nancy Drew book are you reading now?

message 72: by Meredith (new)

Meredith I just read The Fire Dragon Mystery(at least that's the jist of the name :) and am currently in chapter 6 of The Lilac Inn. I haven't read it in awhile and I'm afraid I can't even remember how it ends!

message 73: by Katie (new)

Katie So I'm reading #18-Mystery of the Moss-Covered Mansion and #49-The Secret of Mirror Bay. Both are good!

message 74: by Meredith (new)

Meredith Hey! I've read both of them. I think.... Does the Moss Covered Mansion have oranges (like the fruit) in it?

Hooray for you, ha ha! :-)

I'm a big Nancy fan! This year I'm planning to finish reading all the classic Nancy Drew books. Now I'm currently reading the Clue of the Tapping Heels, and it's pretty good so far! I like it when there's a mysterious car following Nancy around. :-P

message 83: by Katie (new)

Katie I am reading Mystery of the Moss Covered Mansion. Just got to the part where Mr. Croft gets robbed and beaten up. My favorite part was where Bess gets frightened by alligators when she is trying to pick flowers. I am assuming that will be a part in the mystery solving? :)

Ooh! I read the Moss Covered Mansion not too long ago. That one was pretty good. :-) The next time I read a Nancy Drew book, I'm going to read The Quest of the Missing Map.

message 85: by Briahna (new)

Briahna Lynne (briahnalynnehollingshead) Oh!!! I think I have read that one!!!! Although, I have read so many, I can't remember them all......

That is great, Katie! I still haven't read that one - I need to get rid of the pile of library books that I have first. ;-)

message 88: by Briahna (new)

Briahna Lynne (briahnalynnehollingshead) I like that.

message 89: by Katie (new)

Katie Just finished the Quest of the Missing Map! Good one!

Ashlee (ashlee_) | 43 comments I read these books religiously as a kid. The last time I picked up a Nancy Drew book before this past week was my Junior year in high school. I was working as a peer counselor in the elementary school right next to our high school (I'm now a Sophomore in College!). They put me in the library and it was the end of the school day so I went scanning the shelves. I immediately spotted the familiar Yellow hard covered book and sat down to read. I think I made it to page 20 or so before I had to leave. Recently I've been in the mood to read Nancy Drew books and collect them for my daughter to read also. I've been finding some at Local thrift stores and the Goodwill, I'm so excited to re-read them and then share them with Layla when she's a little older. I'm reading "The Clue of the Dancing Puppet" at the moment, but after this one I'm starting at 1 and working my way through. I don't remember how a lot of them end so it will be like reading for the first time all over again!

You sound like me! Although you have more books than me, I have 1-12 in order, and then some odds and ends. Like 22, 24, 26, 32, and 39. 4-5 of them are my moms copies from the 70's! I love that I have the old copy and more recent copy of the Clue in the old Album. =)

The Moss Covered Mansion was good. You like it so far? :-)

Recently read Quest of the Missing Map. I think that's the scariest classic Nancy Drew book I've read so far. XD I felt kinda creeped out when I knew that Nancy was walking into a trap/hoax!

message 94: by Shayleigh (new)

Shayleigh (shelsi) | 28 comments Right now I'm in the middle of reading #38: The Mystery of the Fire Dragon. It's been really good so far! It's about Nancy's search for a missing Chinese girl.

Currently reading #20 (I think) The Clue in the Jewel Box. Nice so far. :-) I laughed at one part but it wasn't meant to be funny. XD

message 96: by [deleted user] (new)

MY favorite is the secret of the old clock, the first one always drags in the reader and that's what happened to me

That's pretty cool, Sierra - I've read that one, too. I like other books in the series more than that one, but still enjoyable.

Just started Secret of the Old Attic (#21) last night. The summary of the story sounds pretty interesting. :-)

Annice22 | 8 comments Charmaine, Sorry for the slow reply, I really did like reading The Moss Covered Mansion.

Right now I'm reading, The Clue of the Black Keys # 28. It's one of the older editions that have 25 chapters.

No problem :-) How are you enjoying the Clue of the Black Keys? I haven't read that one yet. I'm reading them in order. My next one is #23, Mystery of the Tolling Bell.

Annice22 | 8 comments I just finished The Clue of the Black Keys and it was great quick read. I have to remember to buy more ND books so I can read more of them.
