Everyone should have voted Carrie ;) much easier to find...and to watch (the remake is out on November tho I have doubt of its quality as the old movie is amazing)

Finished it!!
I am glad i never finished watching the exorcist movie. I imagine the movie would be scary with Regan 's being possessed. On the other hand, this book is less scary and i can hadle it. heheu..

The book tells about a conflict in faith. There're an atheist, there're jesuits. How they struggle to find the right way against demon. Although i do not like Blatty's writing style, but i like the story. And the ending is so dramatic with the sacrifice.

Just finished it.... I was kind of disappointed overall, but I think it was good as a horror story.

Oh boy this book is scary! Especially if you have seen the movie, so your imagination would become a wee bit more real. I am not sure I like the abrupt ending but does not mind the mysterious part of it. Well researched, excellent writing, overall an enjoyable horror book.

I voted for it :-p and I already have it on my Kobo, but I'm really swamped with work! Any time I have some time to read, I get through a couple of pages and off I go to sleep :D

Finally finished it! Not as scary as I thought it would be. Maybe it's because I already saw the movie. It was a very long time ago, when I was little. I remember that for days I was afraid to go to bed, scared that (view spoiler)[it would shake and then I would be possessed like Regan. (hide spoiler)] Maybe because it was so scary that I still remember almost all the scary scenes in it, that now when I read the book, none of it is new to me. Pity. I was hoping for a good scare.

Do you like his writing style, Fem?

Not really. The dialog, especially, irritates me. I think the author is trying to simulate real speech, but vagueness and repetition leaves me impatient and I just wish that the characters would get to the point.

I agree about the dialogue. In overall, it's only an okay book for me. Not particularly scary, some chapters are long-winded, and the characters are quite frustrating at times.
