Why did they never make a sequel to the movie?

The movie was great,and it did well,so I don't understand why they never made a sequel or for that matter why they crammed all 5 books into one movie when it could've been a franchise

Well for starters the sequel could have been about the major plot lines left out of the first film such as the huge conflict with the elves. Then there's the dwarves,the phouka plotline,the not Jared changeling,and what about the dragons or the nixies

they could just remake the film. and instead of making it all one movie making it into at lest three movies. Because to be honest the movie sucked

they could combine the 1&2, 3&4, and I think the 5 could stand alone

I've seen part of the movie, and it seemed decent, although there was a lot of yelling it seemed like. I've read the books two times through already, and I'm just entranced with them. I hope when I get to see the rest of the movie it will do the books justice.

They just combined the books into one movie. It would be interesting if they made a second movie, but no such luck.

Wow as every movie my children and myself watch there is always a load of weirdos. Who say its not as good as the book , it's rubbish don't like it ! Will you silly people just for once let your kids watch it and listen to them because I am 50 years old and my children are 11 and 12 and this movie is great ! So great , it's not about you it's about your children . Go and have a cup of tea and a lie down please !!!!!!!

Did you guys forget that the movie combines all the books of the first series into one movie and took out a whole lot of the story? That's why there wasn't a sequel. Honestly, I'm glad they didn't make a sequel. I hated that they changed the design of Mulgarath and honestly even though it had a lot of good points, I like the books better. Though SERIOUSLY? why the hell would they change Tony Diterlizzi's design for the character? Worst decision ever guys.
