She turned around startled but regained herself and looked down careful not to make eye contact with him. "Oh I don't know... Maybe I could teach you that you shouldn't have a crush
"On your enemies. Or maybe so could teach you not to disgrace your family name." She says smugly still not looking him in the eye
For some reason Kate suddenly got soft. "You know Liam, you didn't have to be mean to get me to notice you, all you had to do was talk to me." She says honestly. "I mean we met in 5th grade, at the time I wouldn't have cared about our families competition." She tells him. As many feeling as she was feeling, she hated being at competition, even if it was with her enemy.
Kate actually looked him in the eye. "No Liam, I'm the immature one. I haven't been able to see past our families hatred, I haven't been able to see what a great guy you actually are.." She bit her lip and just went for it, she did what she could've never dreamed of doing until that moment, she kissed him.
She pulled back. "I'm.. I'm sorry.." She apologized biting her lip and looking down. "I really shouldn't have.." She sat back in her desk looking down at her hands.
She looked at him with a small smile on her face. "Ya, I think your a great guy, I mean not amazing or anything" She teased him giggling
She laughed. "Probably. But don't just be expecting that now!" She teased. She really did surprise herself, was she really having a nice conversation with her supposed enemy?
Kate smirked. "Is this your way of asking me out?" She asks laughing. "Cause I was say yes." She mumbled quickly so that it wasn't audible.
"That was a yes or no question mister!" She tells him laughing. Never would she have thought to be in this spot, to even be talking nicely to a Hightower. It seemed like it wouldn't be natural, but somehow it was.
She smirked. And waited a while before replying hoping it would make her seem hard to get. "Hmm I don't know, should I say yes?" She says teasing him
She laughed at his cuteness. "Fine Ill say....." She hesitated for a while hoping to make him even more impatient. "....yes." She says smiling. "But I just can't imagine if our families find out!"
"Well I mean..." She bites her lip, he was going to think she sounds like a jerk. "I mean, I care if they find out.... I can't imagine what they would do if they found out. I mean ya I like you, but I've been fighting this battle my whole life, it's hard to suddenly just drop it. And, oh, if my brother finds out, I just, I can't imagine... I'm sorry I'm probably like sounding like an idiot and overthinking this, I'm sorry." She says trying to sound as nice as possible, but she hoped it didnt sound like she wanted to hide him, because she didn't. She was just honestly scared of her family.
"No I'm sorry" She says. "I mean I'll fight too, but I should be able to fight now, If you can I should be able to, too. It's just" she sighs looking for the right word. "I don't know.. Difficult."
"Ok" She says smiling. She laughs in her mind, who would've though Liam would be the person the cheer her up. "But you are right, it won't be easy"
"Yeah, you could say I was saying that." She says with a wink. The teacher walks in. "Miss Summers, Mr. Hightower, you realize you are 30 minutes over time?"
She smiled gathering her things too and catching up to him, leaning her head on his shoulder. "I'd be delighted!" She exclaims. "But I'll have to make some lame excuse for parents."
"Oh I wish! My parents and brothers pay WAY too much attention to me! They're like over protective or something." She says shaking her head.
She smiled and turned toward him hugging him, not wanting to leave him just yet, but she digressed. "7 o clock is great!" She exclaims excited. I'll um meet you at the corner 2 blocks down, ok?" She says giving him a kiss on the cheek and hoping him her car.
As Kate pulled up to her house she saw her two brothers waiting there at the porch step, probably to try and "protect" her from Liam. She shook her head getting out of her convertible and locking it. Maybe they could stop her from seeing him here at her house but no way they we're going to stop her from seeing him other places. She smiled walking up by her brothers who were crossing their arms. "That Hightower making out with you today?" Robert asks roughly. "Nope we're all good!" She flashes them a smile walking in the house, leaving her brothers out there will a confused look.
Kate sat on her bed, grabbed her pillow and let out a small squeal in it. This was going to be her actual first real date. Contrary to popular belief, she has actually never had a boyfriend before, I mean besides those fake ones in like 6th and 7th grade. She turned on her curling iron and hopped in the shower hoping to look really nice for tonight.
Kate got out of the shower and put on a shimmering black dress that her mom had bought her last month and some equally as sparkly heels. She re-applied a little of her makeup and curled her head in tight curls. She looked at her reflection and decided it would do. She look up at the clock, 6:50. She was able to sneak out to her car and drove to the corner where they would meet.

She got out of her car. "Whichever" She answers his "question. She looked him up and down. Handsome. That's the only word she could use to describe him, if you could describe him at all it was just...shocking. I mean he looked nice before, but with the suit it just brought it up a whole new level. "You look AMAZING by the way." She told him. Which for anyone would normally be a pretty big compliment from her, considering she was all into high end fashion.
"Oh stop being humble" She teases slipping into the seat. She smiles as he gets in the car, and gets trapped in his beautiful eyes. "I'm so excited." She slips out
She nods her head. "I may not have liked you since middle school, but that was a mistake Liam. You're an amazing person and my family blinded me." She tells him placing her hand on his
"I finally realized your my dream guy." She whispers romantically, and leaned forward a little more, she intertwined her fingers in his and set her gaze upon his eyes.
Kate sank into the kiss automatically closing her eyes. Kissing him was honestly the most natural thing shed done. She took her free arms and wrapped it around the back of his next pressing them closer together
"Ok" She says, a little sad that they had stopped kissing. "So where are you taking me?" She asks excited. She knew wherever it would be they would be sure to get stares, as everyone knows about their families "disagreement."
"I'm fine with any place as long as I'm with you!" She smiled. She really couldn't believe this was happening, just yesterday she would've thought the idea of going on a date with Liam would've been outrageous, but now today it just felt, right.
Kate happened to glance his way just as she looked his way, she flashed him a huge smile. She again thought just about how odd they're situation was right now, I mean what were the odds of them being together? Hardly any
She beamed hoping out of the truck. "Thank you Liam, you're such a gentleman!" She exclaims, teasingly poking his nose. She grabs onto his arm and leans on his shoulder as they walk in.
"I'll take a water too" She says kindly smiling as the waiter walks away. "This is really nice Liam!" She tells him happily as she takes in the nice little Italian restaurant. It was small enough to feel cozy, but big enough to be fancy.
As the waiter came back with their waters she thanked him and took at sip, then shuddered. "Definitely ice cold" She says with a giggle "More like arctic cold!"
"Oh my goodness Liam, I just don't see how I didn't see how kind you were before!" She exclaims thankfully wrapping the jacket around herself and smiling at him. She picks up her menu and starts to look through it deciding what to eat.
"Oh sure you did show me, I was just too blind to realize it." She replies still flipping through the menu
"Hey listen.." She pulled his head up do that he was looking her in the eye. "There's nothing to be sorry for, I was a jerk too" She admits
She laughed intertwining her fingers in his "Now I'm not too sure about that.." She replies truthfully. "I'm actually normally pretty negative."
"Well that's what you have to say, you're my date" She teases him
She smiled at him. "That definitely works for me." She says with a smirk, but her smile still seeping through.

She smiles and leans her head on his shoulder. "So do you know what you want?" She asks
She laughs leaning into him a little more. "I'm not very adventures, so I'm just going with a plate of noodles." She says laughing. "Ya, I'm pretty basic."
She laughs and kisses his cheek back. "I guess so." She replied as the waiter comes up to the two of them
"I'll just have a plate of spegetti" She says with a smile. As the waiter leaves, he gives her wink, of which she looks completely taken back.
"Oh it's um nothing" She says with a smile. Kate hated lying to him, but she didn't wanna start a scene, so she had too.
She smiled leaning her head on top of his, but not before kissing the top of it. She gingerly put her arm around him
Kate smiled and let him kiss her, pulling herself up on him farther. Not even caring that they're in public.
She smiled at him tease, and bit her lip before going into a full out kiss on him. She slowly put her arms around his neck, putting one hand through his hair.
