Alysha DeShaé (alyshadeshae) I vaguely remember reading a book about either a pickle or cucumber bad guy that took over a human household. I believe a young boy was the main character.

I read this book in grade school, but I don't remember really when. Somewhere between 1993 and 1997, I would guess. However, I don't remember if it was an older book that I found in either the library or a teacher's classroom or if it was a new book at the time. The cucumber/pickle may have been an alien with more of his kind coming to join him. I want to say that a family moved into a new house and the pickle/cucumber was in the basement. I'm almost positive that there was a basement in this book.

I seem to remember this as being something that R.L. Stine would write; I thought it might have been It Came from Beneath the Sink! until I reread it.

I don't remember much else about this book except that I really enjoyed it and would like to find a copy for my library. Any help would be very much appreciated! Thank you!

Alysha DeShaé (alyshadeshae) No, it wasn't a Bunnicula book. I actually skimmed through than one when I bought it a while back thinking it could be it. :-(

Something about the way this was phrased just sounds so odd to my ears. You're not familiar with this yourself --one of the most famous book/movie combos in American culture? You only know about it from 'reviews'? Its a good guess to answer the query of the OP, I'm just curious why you talk about it at such a 'distance'. Never seen the film?

p.s. For 'Kate': 'Celery Stalks at Midnight' actually originated with a clever, comedy-sort-of, be-bop song. Will Bradley Orchestra, if memory serves. Catchy tune! Deliberately began as a joke!
