Cover just uploaded for not-yet-out book looks too dark

I know that in general, one can't change a cover, but only add additional covers. Is this true when one has just uploaded a cover for a book that's not even out yet? The cover looks a good deal darker on Goodreads than in my image processing software, and I'd like to do a special light version for Goodreads use, if feasible.

I've removed it even though it looked OK to me.
