Who the character Mary is based on

The Character Mary is loosely based on a childhood friend that i have lost contact with. We both loved food as children, especially sweets and crisps. All our pocket money would go on then. Even although we ate about the same in qunity, i was a wiry scrouny kid and she was a little plump in a cuddly way.
