This book is about a girl named Sage? who's baby sister is kidnapped/abducted by strange creatures and later in the book found in a strange egg. Circa 1980's. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I was not given that information. Only that it was a book read by, I would imagine, a teenager in the 1980's. Most likely not a picture book and definitely a chapter book.
