Like most Forgotten Realms novels, the begining is good, just hinting at the dangers presented that would follow through with the story. The characters themselves were great, yet one of the protagonists, Quinsareth, seemed a little too much like Artemis Entreri, with his dark character and outlook, often just adopting a pragmatic view of events, though his dialogue left me inthralled. The events described -in detail, in fact- of the antagonist, Morgynn's past as well as her suffering led me to understand more deeply her rather unyielding pursuit of revenge to destroy all the villages in this remote region, all of which were inconsequencial and unrelated to her former "demise". It's a good book to read if you like sword fights and seeing the twisted evil doers sliced like sushi. I recommend anyone who likes the Forgotten Realms series to read this book and enjoy it to its fullest.
