RSURS - Section 1: Prologue - Chapter 2: Requin

The prologue appears to have Jean turning on Locke. Given the appearance of unknown magi apparently bent on revenge for what they did to the Falconer in the last book, and that they have Jean's name, I wonder if they are controlling him again.
I'm not sure that fits with what he said to Locke though.
Can't have a good heist story without a casino. I'm curious what their plan to rob it is going to be.

I'm still not sure what the Bastards' angle for the casino is. Get in tight with the owner to eventually get into the impenetrable vault?
Curious about who they will be meeting with after being disarmed, bound and blindfolded.

I wonder how the falconer was returned and what the other magi had to do to get the story out of him. No hands, no tongue. Did he write the story with his feet?

or it's a ploy, and he's just faking turning on Locke.
No clue how the gang is that just abducted them. Could be done by Selendri - she didn't seem too pleased off them walking freely.
Or it already went to the ears of someone who would really like that vault to be emptied.

It could be, but Locke's not in on it because he looks for hand signs from Jean and doesn't get any.

I agree that the "Master Lamorra" scene was quite spooky. For a while I thought that it would just be a drunken dream. But the Bondsmages seem quite powerful, so it will be interesting to see, if they are able to escape their grasps for good.
I wasn't very fond of Locke's state in the first flashback scene.
At this point I'm not quite sure, if Locke and Jean are enough to keep all the banter between themselves. The lack of the twins and Bug is apparent at this point.
