Beats me, but I'm sure one of the crazy people would know. :-} (that would be Everyman & Jonathan, but don't tell them I called them that).

That's the big plot for my life by the way, to protect Christmas from all the whiners of the world.."
I love Christmas. It's the big deal in our family..."
Yes!! a 20 ft. ceiling!! Our living room is that high and we put up a platform with a 13' tree in the middle, than one of the villages around it. We have a 9' in the dining room, 8' in the front room (we've never found a better name for that room) and another 8' in the loft. I had to count the village houses for the news and there were 295, but I got a few since then for birthday and anniversary and such things.
The houses are out already (yea!) at Kohl's, Boscov's, Michaels' and Lowe's, although I have no idea if you have any of those stores. I'm getting into my happy time. The best day of the year is coming up in about two weeks, that's when the first village comes in.
Oh, I know all the verses too by the way.

That link doesn't work for me. Gives me a page not found."

Well, I found ABC27 news in Harrisburg. Searched that site on "out & about," "out & about Christmas" and "Christmas" and didn't find anything that looked like what you were talking about.
I tried. I really did try.
But I failed.

Beats me, w. :-} (that would be Everyman & Jonathan, but don't..."
I'm surprised that Sweetie Pie didn't know, but I don't either. Sorry.

Uh, have you ever seen Friday Harbor? Guess not, or you would know.

Hello Mark,
the reading of CC will begin after TOCS. As a member of the Pickwick Club you can get notified about new books being read in that group (I think about a week or so in advance), i.e. you get an email. All you have to do is tick one box in your profile. This way you'll get notified about all books that are coming up in any of your groups.

I'll see to that, Everyman!

I see they changed the name to Let's Go Places, it's under community, I think. I don't drink coffee, how about tea?

I see in discussions, in the Old Curiosity Shop discussion that we're supposed to finish on December 15th and we'll start A Christmas Carol right after that, hopefully. I didn't know we get emails about it, guess I wasn't paying attention. :-}

I found it finally.
Okay, you win. Hands down. You're even crazier about decorating than my wife. Way, way crazier.

thank you. I am crazier, and proud of it. :-}

We didn't bother with Walmart when buying plastic bins for our decorations after we, too, found mice in the cardboard boxes. We went to an industrial supplier and bought tubs by the dozen. Our attic is basically nothing but stacks and stacks of tubs of holiday decorations.

We're not necessarily getting emails about new group reads coming on, but I think the default settings do have us receive these mails. If ever you want to change them, enter "edit profile" screen and choose the flag "emails". The second box on the right is called "Group Book Reminders", and here you'll find all the groups you are member of plus the timespan you want to be notified about an oncoming read. The nice thing is you can choose individual settings for each group.

Christmas seems to be the theme. Is it too early to start planning for Christmas? I bought a Christmas train set the other day.

I think Grump was talking about the main characters, mainly.

I agree if it makes Kim happy. This is definitely one of Dickens trademarks.

Plato called fiction an imitation of life and believed it was bad for people. Notwithstanding, he used stories to illustrate his philosophy. Is he morally ambiguous enough for you? Or, maybe moral ambiguity is such a part of real life that Dickens decided to do away with it for his early fiction.

I was just thinking about how this description of Christmas would make good literature.
Would it make you happier if a Grinch stepped in and swiped it?

Christmas is definitely the plot, if I have one. No it's not too early to start planning for Christmas. As I said to the news when they showed up last year, I start planning for next Christmas December 26th. And so far this year I bought two new houses for the living room village, and eight red and gold bells for on the big tree. I'm going for garland this weekend, I thought of two new places for it. Where have you been anyway? :-}

After watching that video about you, I think you calling me crazy is like the tuba calling the piccolo fatso.

and yet I still call you that. Crazy not fat. :-} Besides lots & lots & lots of people who will be going through the house this year (like they do every year) call me crazy. Good. :-}

That's for sure.
