As for items? Copies of the ebook, bookmarks, inkpens/pencils, magnets, keychains, pendants, etc are all pretty popular :)

Thanks for the info, I planned on using Rafflecopter. How many likes did she get? How long did it take her to reach the goal?

Jill, you can simply put your Facebook widget (any of the Facebook widget collection, such as like box, post box etc) right there in your Kindle book page(s). A percentage the visitors will *like* your FB book or fan page(s). I don't have detailed statistics to tell you what percentage of the visitor will give you "likes," but I recently did an experiment with social share buttons in one of my book pages when I had it on KDP Select Free Promo. Roughly one of 10 visitors/downloaders clicked on one of the social share buttons to let the world know what they have discovered (my book!). Details of my experiment is posted here: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1... (Look for message 25 by M. Eigh.)
The technique used to embed Facebook widget in my book description is meticulously documented in this book:

So sorry about the late response! This didn't show up in my notifications :( Fixed that.
She wanted to reach 50 (she'd just started her page) and was planning to give away a copy of a short story she had on Smashwords. She reached 100 in a few days! lol Several of us shared her posts and tweets which helped out a lot. Sadly, not everyone who liked her page participated in the rafflecopter giveaway, but that's an extra step that not everyone wants to make. *shrugs* If FB wasn't so idiotic about showing a page admin their likes (and then showing all who like the page all of your posts), it would make things sooo much easier.
Here are my questions...
What is a reasonable # of likes I should ask for?
What kind of items did you give away?
How long did it take to reach the goal?
Thanks for your input.
