I had a long drive yesterday, so I started this one early. I'm around 70% through now. Through chapter 61.

(view spoiler)[I can't believe that she didn't pick up on the fact that he wanted a new resurrectionist before now! It's what I've been saying from the beginning. The guy killed you just for falling in love with an angel (yes, an enemy, but still) and now he's being nice, so that doesn't fit.

I'm really enjoying getting little glimpses of things from other perspectives. Like the fleeing chymaera (can't remember how this is spelled, audio makes that hard) and the guard at Jorim's palace.

I'm really curious to see how things go with Akiva and his siblings. I don't see the plot to kill Jorim ending well.

And it's sad that Brimstone is actually dead. But he saved some of the others, so that's good. But what is his message? He obviously wanted Karou and Akiva to create the world they dreamed of, so does it have something to do with that? (hide spoiler)]

Through chapter 1. (view spoiler)[ for a moment I thought the pink balloon did contain pee, lol. I like Zuzanna's idea of revenge. Her best friend had vanished, possibly to another world, and even repeat viewings of Kaz crowned in perfume-paste and shreds of pink balloon couldn't make up for that. Pee totally would have, though.

Kaz is such a narcissistic jerk. And so pretentious, ugh. 'I miss her, you know?' 'The only good thing is that I can use it in my work. The longing, the wondering.' (hide spoiler)]

I finished yesterday and I enjoyed this one a lot. The writing was great and I really loved the development of the world and characters. (view spoiler)[Interested to see what happens now that Karou and Akiva are on the same side. I wonder if they can get their people to work together? Things seem pretty tense at the moment.

I hate that Ziri has to be trapped in the wolf's body. Ugh. Hopefully they can fix that situation soon. (hide spoiler)]

I am reading chapter 75 and if you read the end of the first page, the science there is real. Which is amusing to me because I am currently reading a science book, too. An astrophysics book, at that. The first chapter ends with the declaration that we're stardust.(it's this one if anybody is curious to know )

Finished today. The last few chapters were really intense. The horror of (view spoiler)[ Jael's plan to come to the human world had to come, so soon. (hide spoiler)] I need to find out how it all unfolds in the next book. I really liked this book, with all its new characters and the old ones with their new, big roles to play. I agree with you about the world building being broader and more explained in this one. (view spoiler)[ We got not only to see the chimaera from other places than Loramendi, but also Astrae! Chapter 49 (view spoiler)[ I had no idea that Karou could also heal people from life threatening injuries?! That might be an even more useful skill than putting someone into a whole new body. But how did Ziri even get away from those psycho?! All of the ash on him makes me think they threw the people he gleaned onto him and now they're gone forever. :( (hide spoiler)]

I wasn't sure on what to think of this book at first. maybe it was the 'middle - book' - syndrome. I had the feeling that the story dragged a bit and there were to many new characters. Also the feeling that the pieces didn't connect.
But the thing is, not like the first book, this story was more 'show, but don't tell' and that was what kept me reading. I wanted to know what would happen. The second half of the book made it for me. I needed te continue: (view spoiler)[what will happen to Eretz, to all who want this world to end, to the human world? What will this new war bring for everyone?
