How far have you read? It gets a lot better by the end of the book. I was so glad I had book 2 on hand so I could start reading it immediately!

I was wondering why Akiva said he would hate her.. and turns out he 'made peace' by putting an end to resurrection. I was completely heartbroken to find her family gone :( (hide spoiler)]

I felt so bad for Madrigal, and then in the end I felt bad for both Karou and Akiva when he told her he ended the resurrection scheme...One thing I really enjoyed was the fact the chimera and the angels both had their stories for the creation of the species! Personally I like the chimera's history best :) (hide spoiler)]

It's a very slow read for me, but that's really the only negative thing. The writing is beautiful! I love how rich the descriptions are, I love the characters. Karou is a great heroine (I love the fact that she has blue hair).
