34% I finished exactly twenty chapters. I think I can truly say this is the first time I had absolutely no idea where a book is gonna go. Usually, I have a pretty good idea of the direction of the story even if some events allude me or some surprises blindside me. But in this one and in the chapter twenty mark I can say I have no clue where this is going and I'm just ecstatic about that! I hope it doesn't turn into a cliche...

I've finished!! I practically ate the book, it was just soooo good. I want to tell you guys what happened, but I don't want to ruin it for you. It doesn't turn into a cliche, at least if it is, it isn't a cliche I have read. I can't wait to read the second one, I hope it's just as good if not better!!!

%53 I love this book! I like Karou. It's been a while since I liked the lead female in a YA book. They're all mostly neurotic, overly dramatic, weak and stupid really. I usually start hating the character in the first few pages. I don't hate Karou... yet. That's, to me, is a very good sign. And I like the third person narrating because we don't have to rely on one viewpoint and keep guessing what the other people in the book are feeling or thinking.

@Shavony Yes! Get it over with already! Right? (view spoiler)[ I really wanna know what was inside that note! That whole scene with the portals closing and Kishmish on fire was just so cool. Dramatic and came out of nowhere. I hadn't seen that coming. I could almost here the epic music playing in the background as everything happens!

It feels like it's a mislead war. Like they're only fighting because they're told to. The Seraphim king is kind of an A-hole. He seems to be driving this whole thing. (hide spoiler)]

I have a feeling it won't turn into a cliche but I'm being pessimistic because I've had a mean streak of bad books lately and they start out great then it's just downhill from there.

Mainly because she was kind of the same type of chimera you know? With hooves and hornes and stuff. And he used that same thing she said about hope too. Lucky you x) I read it recently. I did NOT like it. Hated the girl from page one. I think I'm comparing the two in my mind and this one, in comparison, is winning by a landslide haha.

Hi everybody. I'm behind. I have been trying to start it. I just have been a little busy. I'm on chapter 2 right now. It is good so far.

I finally finished (view spoiler)[ I think the part about Madrigal took a little too long to get through and then there was just... nothing. The breaking of the wishbone was the climax right? So, after we got sucked into the memory of Madrigal (for way too long I think, but maybe because I was busy and took a lot of time to finish that part) the story just stopped. It felt a little abrupt.

But I like that it wasn't a happy ending. It's a good change. I feel really bad for Akiva though. For the whole mess of the situation really. But, well that's what war is supposed to be like, right? I was just REALLY shocked that Brimstone was dead though. I think I liked him most of all. (hide spoiler)]


I'm definitely up for the sequel.
