Akiva finding her at the Warlords ball is one of my favorite scenes in the book. How Chiro responds to Madrigal remaking her always makes me upset cause she seems so ungrateful but then again Chiro really did want to be high human so she can be part of a better caste or something. It kills me that they are supposed to be best friends but Chiro turned her in. Brimstones final talk to her before her death and says he isnt ashamed of her and he could never be. I think the idea of her possessing Chiros body and over powering her soul is really interesting. But i think being "weak with envy" really makes sense. I didnt realize that here at the end is when they realize Thiago is the one that revealed resurrection to the seraphim. I love this series so much and there is a lot i didnt notice my first reading

(view spoiler)[ I love the chemistry between Akiva and Madrigal. The ball scene is probably my favourite in this book - the way Akiva kept finding Madrigal made me smile so much. After we got the whole story, I forgot about my hate for Brimstone because he had a reason for what he did to Karou(!) and the moment I started loving Brimstone, Akiva had to break spoil happiness by revealing what he had done. I actually said "NOOO" out loud when I read about the death of Brimstone and the others. I truly hope that this is somehow not true because I loved all 4 of them. Can't wait to read the next book! Review: Woooooooow I had no idea what I was getting myself into. This was way higher than my expectations! The realities in this are amazing! I love all of the mystery, the romantic pulls, the way a lot of the different points in the story tied in with each other. It stretched my imagination with all of the (view spoiler)[Chimaera (hide spoiler)], but I think I started to get the hang of them. I was amazed when I found out what (view spoiler)[the hamsas on their hands meant, which meant Karou has been resurrected. And when she saw the White Wolf on the table! I remembered as soon as Madrigal mentioned that. (hide spoiler)] I knew as soon as Akiva mentioned (view spoiler)[the tilt of her head, as Magrigal had done, and some other things she'd done, that she was somehow connected to Madrigal. I thought maybe she'd reincarnated or something. But never resurrected! (hide spoiler)] One thing I was confused about when (view spoiler)[Karou received Madrigal's memories, was why Akiva was so sullen the whole time. I didn't see how knowing she was Madrigal (hide spoiler)] took away from the awesomeness of the moment. But then, when he revealed that (view spoiler)[he'd killed her family, I understood. (hide spoiler)] If I was Karou I would be completely 100% torn up. I myself felt torn up figuring that out!! I love all of the characters, particularly the way (view spoiler)[Razgut tied up to be more than a minor character, as he's now apparently helping her back to Elsewhere? (hide spoiler)] Wonder what's happened with (view spoiler)[Akiva. (hide spoiler)] One thing I do know for sure is that I will be continuing the series.

The lore of this book is amazing! Karou is amazing. Brimstone, the mysterious Akiva... I'm loving it! Can't wait to see what will happen. And where I'm now, Akiva atacked Karou and her tattoos flashed and this saved her. He was going to kill her! Wow!

What is happening? Why are the angels marking the doors? Why Brimstone needs so many teeth? WHO is Karou? Let's see. Can't wait.

So many things have happened! All the interaction with Akiva and Karou is really beautiful! I'm really loving it. And they have such a chemistry together!



But one thing keeps bothering me. Right now Akiva felt something when he saw the wishbone and he said that he knows who Karou is. And all the time they've been talking she has these kinds of flashbacks. Does that mean that she's some kind of reencarnation of Akiva's lover? If so, I'm a little bit disappointed. I would prefer him to like her for who she is now, not just because she was someone important for him in a past life. I mean, she's such an amazing character. So complex and beautiful! He could fall in love for who she is, right?
