The library is a large one filled with plushy chairs, reading lamps, and large shelves, stacked to the top with books.

Rapunzel walked into the library quietly. She sat down at a table with a stack of books, reading to herself. She smiled at the feel of the library. She liked the quiet, warm feel.
Eric gave a sigh and walked into the library. He sat at a table, finding a random book, quite close to where Rapunzel was. He didn't see her.
Rapunzel heard a faint sigh and looked up to see an attractive boy, probably around her age. Maybe a little older. She debated whether or not to get up and say something to him. She looked down at her stack of books, titles ranging from the sea to the birds of the air. She really did have a love of reading.
Eric had, by way of coincidence, picked up a book about sailing, but for once he wasn't in the mood. He tried to read, opening on the page about sailor mythology. Mermaid. The word stood out to him. He didn't quite know why.
Rapunzel saw the boy reading a book about the sea. She walked over to him and sat down across from him. He looked so interested in the book. "Is that book any good?" She asked.
A girl's voice. Eric looked up in excitement. When he saw Rapunzel his heart sank. A blonde. Not that he had anything against blondes, but the girl he was looking for was a ginger. "It's pretty good, yeah."
Rapunzel propped her elbows on the table and her chin in her palms, and looked at him with a small smile. "What's it about?" She asked curiously.
"Sailing. A preferred subject of mine," Eric said, closing the book to talk to Rapunzel.
"Fun!" She smiled in a friendly way. "I've always wanted to go sailing!" Rapunzel had hardly been anywhere or done anything. She had lived in her tower all her life.
"It's nice," Eric said, remembering the last time he went sailing, on his way back from Germany. "Yes. Sailing is very nice," he said, gazing at her in a way that he hoped wasn't rude. She had really long hair. He didn't comment on it.
Rapunzel stood up when she realized that she was sitting on her hair. She pulled it out from under herself. She pushed it under her chair, then sat back down. "What do you see when you go sailing?" She asked him.
"Water," Eric said truthfully. Every sailing trip was different. Everywhere he went had nothing in common except for the fact that there was water everywhere. He focused on the girl. Big green eyes, a splash of light freckles. She was quite pretty, to be honest.
The corner of Rapunzel's lips upturned. "Water, huh?" She laughed softly. "Do you get to see any dolphins or anything?" She asked him, studying his bold features. He was quite handsome with that dark hair and the toned build and his warm eyes.
"Every now and then. It's actually a lot harder to be a sailor than people give us credit for. You get storms, isolation..." Eric said grimly, meeting her green eyes.
((Megan, are you going to need another mod?))
((Megan, are you going to need another mod?))
Rapunzel bit her lip slightly. "That sounds terrible! Have you been caught in many storms?" She asked, wanting to know more about this guy.
((Maybe. Are you interested in becoming a mod? :) ))

((Yes.))
He nodded. "Very recently, I was in a shipwreck. Luckily, I survived," he said, remembering it.

((How do you add another mod? I would love for you to be a second mod! :) I'll find a way to add you ASAP!))
Rapunzel frowned. "That's terrible!" She said, looking at him sadly. "I'm glad you survived!" She said with a small smile.

"Things happen," Eric said, wincing at the memory. "I don't think I caught your name, by the way. I'm Eric." After a few seconds of thought, he added, rather awkwardly, "Prince of Denmark."
((Yay! I'm a mod!))
((Yay! I'm a mod!))
((I added you as a mod. I gtg, so I'll reply when I get back!))
Rapunzel smiled at him in a friendly way. She eagerly stuck out her hand for him to shake. "I'm Rapunzel." She said, leaving out the royalty part. She didn't want to ignore him just because she was a commoner.
Eric shook her hand with a smile. "Nice to meet you, Rapunzel," he said sincerely. "So what's up with the hair?"
Rapunzel absent-mindedly ran her hands through her hair. "Do you have any cuts or bad bruises or anything?" She asked him. "I'm not changing the topic." She added defensively.
"Nah, not at the moment," Eric said. "When I started sailing, I got them all the time, but I've gotten better at avoiding Bad Things," he then added. "But seriously, what's up with your hair?"
"Okay, well I guess we'll have to make do without the cuts." She took a deep breath and started singing. "Flower gleam and glow.. Let your power shine.. Make the clock reverse, bring back what once was mine.. What once was mine." She opened her eyes and looked up to Eric.
Eric shrugged. It wasn't like that was the weirdest thing he'd ever seen. You travel across countries, you see weird things sometimes. "Oh, I see. So why can't you cut it?"
Wow. She was amazed at Eric's calamity. "You took that really well." She smiled at him. "Well, it looses it's power if you cut it." She said, showing him a piece of short brown hair. "It can heal, and make people younger." She said softly.
Eric nodded. "That's quite interesting. You're lucky to have a gift like that," he said. It was a really cool ability, and someone as nice as Rapunzel was deserved it.
"It's not that lucky, though. Despite the amazing power that my hair possesses, when I was young, people tried to steal my hair for its' power. That's how it got cut. I've lived in a tower my entire life trying to keep away from these evil-do-ers." She said sadly.
Eric's face fell. "That's a shame," he said, really meaning it. He wondered for a second how come she was here, but decided not to ask.
"Yeah. They say power comes with a price. I think it's true." She said softly, running her fingers through her hair in a protective way. She looked back up at Eric.
"That's a horrible price to pay. I'd hate being cooped up in a tower for my entire life," he added, with a small reassuring smile.
"I tried to make the best of it, but it was a little hard to." She said softly. Eric was really nice. "But, after years of being cooped up, I was sick of it. I'm so glad that Mother let me come." She said softly.
"It's really nice that you're here," Eric admitted, his smile not leaving his face. Rapunzel was a genuinely nice person, and Eric liked genuinely nice people.
Rapunzel smiled back at Eric. "I hope that everything will go well here. I can't see anyone that I've met so far, try to take my hair." She laughed softly, her big green eyes shining.
((I'm gonna make a teacher soon. I have the headmistress too, but I never made a charrie sheet for her.. Should I make one, or do we just let her develop as the RP goes on? Do you want an adult character like, a nurse or something like that? I guess you have Milo, but do you want a head Villain or something?))

"I hope nobody tries to take your hair. That'd be a shame," Eric said, his smile widening. He realized his book was still on the desk, and he picked it up and returned it to the shelf.
((I'm fine with Milo. And you should make a charrie sheet for the headmistress, but only use her when you have to as opposed to all the time.))
((I'm fine with Milo. And you should make a charrie sheet for the headmistress, but only use her when you have to as opposed to all the time.))
Rapunzel laughed at how silly that sounded. "Yeah, I doubt anyone in this school would want it to stay young forever. Everyone here is pretty young."
((Okay. I'll make the charrie sheet soon. Yeah I'm not going to use the headmistress all the time. She's going to be a little boring to play. I have to make a teacher, though. We need quite a few teachers.))

A thought came to Eric suddenly. "If they cut it, doesn't it lose its power?" he asked her curiously. If it went brown on Rapunzel's side, wouldn't it go brown on their side?
"Yeah, I think so. It turns brown and stays brown. It hardly grows too." She said. The short little piece of brown hair had been that was for years.
((Sorry it took me so long to reply!))
"Do the powers of the hair outweigh the price, then? Wouldn't it be easier for you to just cut it? It'd be a loss of a great power, but you'd have more freedom..." Eric suggested.

Rapunzel thought about it. "Well, I can heal anyone better than any bandages can, so that's an upside. But, it's heavy and big, but carrying it made me pretty strong. That's an upside and a downside. If I put it in a braid, then it's more manageable." She said with a shrug.
((No problem!))
((No problem!))
Eric surveyed her, wondering what to do about it. "So, does the tower you lived in have stairs?" he asked, the gears in his head whirring as he focused on the blonde girl.
"I don't know. I haven't seen any, but that doesn't mean that they're not there." She said with a shrug. "Why?" She asked Eric curiously.
((I used to have a major crush on this guy named Eric.. Haha it's funny to write this, but it makes me think of him. I don't think I've ever really completely gotten over him. He was great. :) haha))

"So you were in there alone for - how many years?" Eric said, half to himself and half to Rapunzel. It wasn't fair to think of her cooped up in a tower for all of her life.
"Well, I had my Mother for a while.. She came and visited me every day. Well, all my life. Sixteen and a half years." She told him with a small smile and a shrug, looking at him with her big green eyes.
"Sixteen and a half years? In a tower?" The concept was hard to grasp for Eric, who'd always had reasonable freedom. At least he could leave his castle, spend time outside, around the sea. He thought he was unlucky, but meeting Rapunzel he realized his life was actually pretty good.
Rapunzel nodded slowly. What did normal people live in? Didn't most people have towers too? "Yes. Sixteen and a half year. It was so exciting to get out and feel the grass that I'd been watching grow for all of my life." She said with a delicate smile.
"It must have been," Eric mused, half to himself and half to Rapunzel. He couldn't imagine being stuck for sixteen and a half years in a tower, isolated from the world below him.
"So, what's your life like? Enough about mine. All I know is that you're a sailor. Anything else?" She asked him, looking at his dark eyes with her big green ones.
"I'm a prince. I've recently returned from a trip to find a wife." Mentally, Eric made a face. "I don't want to get married. Anyway, I don't really have that much in my life. Boring, you know?"
((Oh wait...I just realized the dance has started...))
