ch6 - at least the cat has met his match now that someone isn't giving him what he wants all the time. (that cat is amazing btw)
it felt very metaphorical when fitz burned the buck from his table before leaving the cabin. that makes me think he really isn't coming clear about his identity any time soon.
the scene with jinna, i actually made some very mean snorting laugh at one point of which i felt very ashamed of afterwards, but that was just one heck of an awkward scene.
looks like no scrolls or missing. but you never know.

You can save him the embarrassment and fix it for him since you're a mod..
ch7 - Thick is a very interesting character,I quite like him, odd as he is. But can i ask how mean it is to call a mentally disabled person 'Thick'?
First skill-lesson with the prince was quite interesting. Somehow i was expected Nettle to join them while they were walking amongst the Skilled ones.
but I'm guessing Thick will become the next student in Fitz' class

ch8 - oh chade, when did you turn into a whiny, jealous old guy. i don't think there is any reason to doubt that he has skill potential with his farseer blood, but he seems very envious of lost opportunities. i can see his experiments go completely wrong.

Chade has ALWAYS been a whiny, jealous old guy!
One of the great things about this series is the way that it re-examines many of the things you thought you knew from the Farseer Trilogy. In this case, it's not so much that Chade has changed (he was always obsessively driven, always bitter about his bastardy, always prone to complain when things weren't 100% under his control), as that Fitz is increasingly coming to see him not as a father but as a peer. I think, anyway.
And yes, it's mean to call him 'Thick'. Lots of people are mean to Thick. But now his name effectively IS 'Thick', regardless of how he got it, and wouldn't necessarily be a kindness to try to change his name for him just because everyone else knows that it's mocking him.
[Besides, who's the hero here? Fitz has gone through his life with everyone calling him 'Fitz', because he's a fitz. Bastard and Fool - 'Thick' gets off comparatively lightly!]
ch9 - laurel's horse :(
so Thick is receiving skill messages from all around. even Nettle. I'm not sure how long Fitz will be able to keep her out. This chapter started with a pretty important warning about eager skilling and knowing no boundaries. I hope neither Nettle nor Chade will become a mindless vegetable.

That's true. But it's rarely been this apparent. I think the word Bastard is enough for him to get on his high horse. As he did this chapter about Nettle as well.
It's true that we are starting to see Chade more and more as a peer. And since these books are fully in first person, we are of course very dependent on what Fitz is thinking

ch10 - i'm assuming that henja-the-servant could very well be the pale woman. she's set on the destruction of the farseer because that is what the fool stands for.
how on earth making sure dutiful's first child is the narcheska's is a question beyond me right now.
was i the only thinking this whole age thing was silly? i had expected bigger differences but i guess only to a 12year old girl there is a massive difference between being 11, 12 or nearly 13.
she played it well though, ignoring and putting your chin in the air surely are some of the oldest tricks in the book, but sometimes it works :)
i hope this thing with hap really is him foolishly running away for a night somewhere. and that he's not being captured as leverage of any kind.
if that pub really is a meeting place for witted, the piebalds might very well know that hap is as a son to fitz

Or at least she is being controlled by her. She seems to be on remote control
yes, sorry that's what i meant, i should have written that more clearly. if she was the pale woman herself the fool would recognize her.
And I wonder if any of his scrolls turn up in Piebald hands? Maybe they got to some before he could fetch them.
