What should the reading schedule be?"
Go at whatever pace you feel suits you and your schedule. I know a lot of people are busy. :D

There's a long waiting list for most of them. :[

Sidenote: anyone been to the bookstore in downtown across from the skyway/plaza? THAT BOOKSTORE IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AND GORGEOUS THING EVER.

Which bookstore is it? :D

While the books aren't particularly well-written, it's easier to follow than most of the books we've been reading in the book club and sometimes it's good to have a little light reading. (Don't be intimidated by the length, the pages will fly by.) Martin makes up for his weak writing style with strong worldbuilding and characters.
You can feel free to discuss the TV show as well, although Becca's rule about spoilers does apply...
Spoilers. Spoilers. Spoilers. This is the MOST IMPORTANT RULE. If you have read ahead in a book club collaborative reading thread, simply wait to bring up classified information later. If you are discussing a novel in a more general thread, ANNOUNCE YOUR SPOILERS before you post them. Use CAPS, paragraph breaks, squiggly lines, whatever it takes.
I will be participating in and moderating the discussion here, although I won't be much of a contributor since I'm already reading book two.
Happy reading!
