One of my favorite things to do a few weeks before summer begins is to line up my ever-growing list of TBR books for the summer. I am an educator so summer offers a chance to allow my personal reading to outdistance my professional reading. Yipee. I stumbled upon this summer challenge and have now spent so much time lining up my book picks that I could have read an entire book, but it is so addictive. I want to stretch myself into some authors and genres I don't normally read, so this looks perfect. Any hints from veterans in the group?

Welcome Karen!The challenges certainly do open your eyes to new authors and genres, if you're willing. As you float around the different threads you'll come across titles you might never have heard of and based on peoples' reviews you will either find yourself interested or completely turned off. I suggest just going with it, see what sparks your interest, and feel free to jump into the conversations also. The best part is how one thread that seems to be about one topic can veer into a completely different topic, but with that comes a new list of titles and authors, many of which you will find you can fit into the challenges.

I really enjoy historical fiction and realistic fiction, but am also drawn to mystery/espionage novels as well.
