A maid was passing and heard her yelling. She opened the door. "Milady?" she asked then seeing the rat. She walked over and pried the rats mouth open, pulling it away from Piper's finger. She quickly moved her fingers from its mouth to its tail. Holding the tip of it.
"Milady. I've been bitten plenty of times and am I dead?"
The maid nodded. Pulling out a rat cage hidden in Piper's room and put the rat in it.
"They come into the castle for food and warmth."
"We'll try to keep them out, Milady." she said.
The maid curtsied before hurrying out.
The maid had sent for the physician. He knocked on the door. "Milady?"
"A maid sent me to look at your hand." he said as he walked in and over to her.
The physician took her hand and looked at it. He pulled something out and put it on the bite. "That should keep it from any infection and the likes." he said.
He nodded then left quietly.
Declan stretched. "Are you ready to go back to the bedroom, love?"

"Liar." he said, carrying her to their room.
