Your Personality: Exacting Serial Reader!

Start quiz

Your responses showed you fitting into two different groups - the exacting reader and the serial reader.

The expression 'so many books, so little time!' sums up your life. You love books but you rarely have as much time to read as you'd like - so you're very particular about the books you choose.

In fact, you're a publisher's dream, because once you discover a favorite writer you tend to stick with him/her through thick and thin and eagerly await the next in the series; but even you need to discover some new blood from time to time!

Kylie (kyliemaree) | 878 comments Yep, I'm an All Rounder too!

I fit into three categories:

Involved Reader: You don't just love to read books, you love to read about books. For you, half the fun of reading is the thrill of the chase - discovering new books and authors, and discussing your finds with others.
Exacting Reader: You love books but you rarely have as much time to read as you'd like - so you're very particular about the books you choose.
Serial Reader: You're a publisher's dream, because once you discover a favorite writer you tend to stick with him/her through thick and thin and eagerly await the next in the series; but even you need to discover some new blood from time to time!

Looking at these descriptions; it pretty much fits me to a T. :)

Awesome quiz Brenda, thanks! :)

I'm an All Rounder as well! It doesn't surprise me though as I definitely fit into all categories. =o)

Serial &
Eclectic

Arika Sandemore I'm an All-Rounder

Eclectic Reader: You read for entertainment but also to expand your mind. You're open to new ideas and new writers, and are not wedded to a particular genre or limited range of authors.

And I have to say, the quiz is pretty accurate!

message 66: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (diggensjenny) | 962 comments I am Serial Reader!

message 67: by Krystal (new)

Krystal (krystallee6363) | 2314 comments The Serial Eclectic Reader

Your responses show that you are both a serial reader and an eclectic reader, which indicates that you both read widely and frequently.

As a serial reader you're loyal to your favorite authors, but as an eclectic reader you're also open to new ideas and new writers, and are not wedded to a particular genre. That you manage to both keep up with your favorite authors and explore new writers indicates that you are likely to be what the research companies like to term a "heavy reader" - and a BookBrowse membership might be just what you've been looking for!

Yeahhhhhh that's pretty much me! :)

message 68: by Kat (new)

Kat | 4 comments Apparently I'm an eclectic reader!

I actually thought I was more of an involved or exacting reader - I love to talk or read about books and searching them up. I also tend to stick to the same genre and type of books instead of branching out, so it's interesting that I'm an eclectic reader.

I once didn't read a blurb properly and started what I thought was a spy thriller, only to find it was erotica...

Funny how our tastes change over time Jen :)

message 85: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 1565 comments I also got "all rounder" - a combination of Involved Reader, Exacting Reader and Eclectic Reader. Like you, Jen, I think I'd have been more on the serial end a year or more ago. Joining goodreads and taking part in several of the Aussie Readers challenges, in addition to the Popsugar and Pingel Sisters' Annual Challenges, has definitely made me a wider reader - I've discovered (or re-discovered) genres and authors I might not otherwise have happened upon. Onward and upward!

Your Reading Personality:
All-Rounder!

Your responses show you fitting equally into all four reading personalities:

Involved Reader: You don't just love to read books, you love to read about books. For you, half the fun of reading is the thrill of the chase - discovering new books and authors, and discussing your finds with others.
Exacting Reader: You love books but you rarely have as much time to read as you'd like - so you're very particular about the books you choose.
Serial Reader: Once you discover a favorite writer you tend to stick with them through thick and thin.
Eclectic Reader: You read for entertainment but also to expand your mind. You're open to new ideas and new writers and are not wedded to a particular genre or limited range of authors.
