"What do you mean? What happened?" Mark asked confused.

"Well see I was there when you died......." He blurted
"How? What happened? To me...to you?"
"What do you know about the demon?" He ask trying to gage how much he will have to explain
He shrugged. "I know that he comes around every ten years and kills someone. That's about it."
He nodded. "Well I was coming to talk to you that night and stumble upon the demon and you..."
Mark was frowning. "the demon and me? what....what was happening?"
"The demon kills by sucking the life force out of things. So he was slowly killing you by taking your life force. You were studying in the library."
Mark was shifting uncomfortably. Hearing about his death.....it was weird. "How.....how did you see it? What happened to you then?"
((Sorry I haven't been on lately, Been super duper busy these past few weeks with school))"The demon caught me and killed me also." Sam said with a shrug
((It's fine :) I understand completely. ))He swallowed. "Why....because you saw what happened to me?"
((Awesome, Thanks for understanding!))He nodded slowly. "Yes..."
((No problem. See how late my reply is.))"I....I'm sorry."
((Guess we both been sure busy lately))Sam looked away. "IS there anything else you need?"
((yeah. Sigh.))Mark shook his head. "I'm sorry Sam....you didn't deserve this either."
He shrugs. "It was in the past. It doesn't matter anymore."
"I'm still sorry. We might not have always gotten along but...."
Sam just shrugs again. "I hope that was useful. I got to run." He said started to turn away
Mark gave a nod, turning as well to head back into Alex's room.
Alex was bouncing up and down on the bed waiting for him to return
Mark entered a minute later, raising an eyebrow at her.
"What? Now spill the beans." She said calming down
"The demon killed him too.....He saw what was happening to me so it killed him to keep him quiet I guess." That made him frown. "What if it comes after you....."
She got pale when he told her what happen to Sam. She stares at the ground for a long moment before shrugging.
"I don't want it to kill you because you're helping me....."
"Don't worry Mark. I can take care of myself." She said pushing away his worries.
"I didn't even know it was happening to me. If it goes after you...."
She lay a hand on his shoulder. "Hey, everything is going to work out fine."
"I just don't want you t die for helping me."
"I know you don't but Mark something terrible happen to you. You need justice, I just cant stand here and not help."
"Well there's nothing we can do about me now. You though should stay alive. You still have family thatbcares about you. mine's probably moved on by now."
"We are in a boarding school Mark, family doesn't send you to a boarding school because they care about you." She said in a huff. "You wont change my mind about this."
He frowned but didn't say anything. She did have a point there. Kind of. "I'm sure they'd still care if something happened to you though..."
"Mark drop this, I am going to help you. Who else will? No one else can see you!" She point out
"Maybe not but I don't want you to die for helping me. Sam didn't do anything except see it and the thing killed him. What would it do to you for actually helping me?
She poke him in the chest. "Let me help you."
"I'm not going to be able to change your mind am I?"
"No, Mark I want to help no I need to help..." She said
"I'm not going to be able to convince yu not to. This way maybe I can protet you a little better if you aren't going behind my back."
"Thank you Mark, I will not let you down." She said smiling
"I promise I will do everything in my power not to die." She said laying a hand on his arm. She would try to keep that promise
"Thank you." He said, letting out a breath. "For everything."
She shrugs. "What are friends for?" She ask with a smile
He smiled back. She was probably the best friend he'd ever had. Includng when he was alive.
She yawns after another moment. "I think I should get some sleep and we plan tomorrow." She said climbing into bed with her day clothes on. She didn't care anymore. "Ummm Mark....." She started as she pulled the blanket up. "I was just wondering could you maybe keep watch tonight... All this demon has me worked up..."
"Sure. It's not a problem." He reassured her. "In fact, if you want I'll keep watch every night. I'm dead, I don't need sleep anymore. And it's the least I can do with everything you've been doing for me. You're a good friend."
She smiled up at him but did not say a word. She closed her eyes and was asleep in a few moments.
