Kandice | 4387 comments I didn't care for the second half of Dreamcatcher either, but I (in the minority, I know) really DID like Cell.

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Oh... I see. I did like Dreamcatcher, but I agree it's not King's best. I didn't care for the movie though.

I loved the book and, well, liked the movie in some respects. I agree that the movie was awful but I think I've only seen one GREAT movie based on King's work. (Though I did like the Nightmares & Dreamscapes TV series.)

Edit. Make that two! I loved Kubrick's The Shining and The Green Mile!

Edit2. Okay, so I liked The Dead Zone, too. And I remember seeing Dolores Claiborne but I can't remember anything about the movie.

Kandice | 4387 comments I can not even see the title Dreamcatcher without clenching my buttocks. That's a pretty drastic reaction to last all these years!

Kandice | 4387 comments Well, I didn't see the movie, and you didn't read the book, so tell me, are there s@#t weasels in the movie? And doesn't that make your tenders, well...feel tender? Blech! Talk about finding a little fear and exploting it.

Betsy Boo (betsyboo) | 195 comments Hope you don't mind me chiming in here but I have to agree with Stefu here. It sounds like Rob is looking for something scary and the 2 SK stories that scared the HELL out of me (in the time frame Rob is talking about) were "The Man in the Black Suit" and "1408". I still get images in my head to this day from the first one and I had to put down the second and wait for daylight to finish. Haven't done that in years before or since.

Lisa (lisapasonelli) I really enjoyed "The Mist." Sure it had its scary moments, but I thought the characters were really fascinating. I was especially interested in the ending (and the subsequent changes to that ending in the film adaptation). I was just impressed by the way the story played out.

LinBee Dreamcatcher was one of my favorite books, but I hated the movie. I also loved the beginning of Cell, but it did peeter out a bit at the end. I still liked it though.

Martin Maher (martin87) | 72 comments I have to agree with you Lisa. The Mist is a great story. This was the first story of his that I read outside the `Dark Tower`books, & must say that I was really impressed by it. I too saw the movie, which I liked too. I prefer the way King ended the story though.
