Janet F (janet_f) | 450 comments What do you think of The Midwife of Hope River for option 3? The main fictional character is a midwife and I think that contemporary nurse midwife training/ healthcare/ medical might be a STEM field.

Sure, primatology is a branch of zoology, which is definitely a STEM field. Have fun reading!

P.S.: Sorry for the late reply, I was having issues with my ISP.

They're butterflies drawn in ectoplasm or something - or does it have to be real butterflies?

thanks!"

I'm sorry, that won't work. The outlines aren't really visible, so one can't say that they're butterflies - they look more like bats to me. :D

P.S.: Sorry for the late reply, I was having issues with my ISP.

Jayme Pendergraft | 762 comments Hi,

Would Pompeii by Robert Harris work for option 3? The main character is an aqueduct engineer. Thanks!

Jayme Pendergraft | 762 comments Hi Bouchra,

Just checking in about whether Pompeii works for option 3? The main character is an aqueduct engineer. Thank you!

I sent Bouchra a message. Hopefully, there will be an answer soon.

Shelby (stang_lee) | 927 comments Hi, was wondering if Red+Blue (Opposites Attract, #1) by A.B. Gayle might possibly count for Option #3? Ben is training to be an actuary which from my understanding is pretty math heavy. ;)

That will be fine.

I think that's fine. Bouchra previously approved a book about a midwife, and a psychologist also fits in the medical field.

Sorry - the task requires there to be "a butterfly" on the cover. This appears to be a child wearing butterfly wings, but not an actual butterfly.

I looked up info about actuaries, and it does appear that this pretty heavily involved in mathematics, so you can use it.

I'm responding to the built up questions here since Bouchra hasn't been online. I think I got them all, but if I missed any outstanding questions, please let me know and I'll respond next time I'm online - I'm currently out of town and preparing for my daughter's wedding tomorrow, so I'm trying to fit in GR stuff as I get a chance!

message 69: by Shelby (new)

Shelby (stang_lee) | 927 comments Thank you for taking the time. Have an amazing time at your daughter's wedding! Congratulations!

All fine. When you post the completed task, please indicate that they were approved, so Kristi doesn't have to re-think them!

Thanks! The wedding was fabulous and amazing and sentimental and funny and quirky and just perfect! And, fortunately, I can stop bursting into tears every 15 minutes!!

Jayme Pendergraft | 762 comments Thanks for the approval Sandy, and congrats on the wedding! :)

I Googled blood spatter analysts, and it turns out that many sites recommend at least a college-level background in science, so yeah, Dexter's Final Cut will count. Have fun reading!
