I'm starting this thread for the purpose of having ONE place for bloggers to post what they're looking for as well as if they are accepting or looking to promote authors. Authors looking for promotion - it may be a good idea to start in this thread and check on some of the other blogs listed in the Blog Roll for any updates to individual blogs.

So, fire away. Who is looking for new content for their blog?

Samantha LaFantasie (sam_goodno) | 1 comments Hello everyone! I'm looking for indie authors who wouldn't mind being interviewed, have a book feature, guest posting, etc. Feel free to check out my site: samanthalafantasie.com to see if it's something you like and if so, please review my policy at:http://samanthalafantasie.com/author-...

I have other things that I do for authors. Just check out this link:http://samanthalafantasie.com/author-...

I update my availability fairly frequently, so if one week you see that I've posted being unable to do something, check back because the next week it may change!

Thanks!

Armada Volya | 1 comments I'm looking for writers for a podcast

We started Under Candlelight podcast a couple of months ago with the intention of helping authors gain publicity in the right crowd. Too often I find blogs and podcasts that do author interviews, but they are targeted at other writers rather than readers. We decided to do things a little differently.

The podcast is targeted for SF, Fantasy and Horror fans. We usually take movies from these genres and discuss them, breaking it down by storyline, visual effects and so on, plus talk about how the movie could be changed to make it better or imagine a crossover. This helps showcase the author's storytelling style while keeping it targeted at the right audience.

At the moment we're trying to find guests to review Labyrinth, Dorothy Mills, Split Second, and Bloody Mary. Split Second and Bloody Mary can be found free on YouTube. If you're interested in reviewing any of these movies with us, let me know.

Olga Godim (olgagodim) | 7 comments Friends, Authors,
I’m opening my blog http://olgagodim.wordpress.com to mini-interviews. I’d like to interview the leading characters of your published Fantasy fiction. Any sub-genre of Fantasy is acceptable.

Each character should answer three questions:
1. Tell me a little about yourself—your name, profession, where you live, do you have a family, the usual.
2. What happened to you, so you ended up in this crazy adventure the novel talks about?
3. This question is up to the writer who created you.

In addition to the character’s answers, I would need the following:
• The author’s name
• The novel’s title (if it’s part of a series, then the sequence #)
• Genre, sub-genre
• The cover picture
• The author’s media links (website, facebook, etc)
• The buy links for the book

If you wish to participate or have questions, contact me at olgagodim@gmail.com

I’ll post the interviews on the first-come-first-serve basis, once a week, on Mondays. I’ll let you know about the post date in advance.

I’d also ask, if any of you is an artist, if you could create a graphic image I can use with every post in this series. Perhaps something like a mini-header or a horizontal badge with the usual fantasy accessories. If I get a few of those images, I’ll post them all on my blog and ask you folks to decide which one is best.

Liz | 7 comments HI. I am hoping someone can help me. I am a mom of 3, and have just recently been able to finish my book. I am proud of it, and want to see if the rest of the world likes it too. But I don't have the first clue how to spread the word about it. I can't let my family know because it was sort of therapeutic for me to write, so social media is out. I feel like if your not a celebrity there are limited avenues to take. If anyone can help me with ideas or what they have done I would appreciate it. I am attaching the link to my book so you can see what its about to maybe let me know what you think I should do. I appreciate your time and look forward to advice. Thank you thank you and did I say thank you!

Hi Liz - have you claimed your author page on Goodreads? Is Goodreads also out for promotion? Have you done a giveaway on Goodreads or other book sharing sites? If you're using a pen name, are you on twitter with that handle and interacting there? Do you have a blog or website?

I'm a novice at all of the things I've listed. In fact my book doesn't come out until Friday, but, I have done a lot of reading on the subject and it really isn't the case that if we write it, they will come.:) It takes a lot of work. I hope this helps a little.

Eden Crowne | 30 comments Hi, I suggest you go to godaddy.com to claim your domain name -- just get the cheapest service there is, no need for bells and whistles -- use your pen name .com for the site. You can then build a great website free at weebly.com. They are drag and drop interface and the simplest thing to create.

this is my site: http://www.edencrowne.com

Go to facebook and make a page with your pen name, it's easy to link it with your webpage.
You need to project a professional presence and these steps will allow you to do so.
I set up my mailing list on mailchimp -- also a free service -- and it is brilliant.

D. Thrush Congratulations on your book, Liz! It looks good. It's so hard to get the hang of promoting when you're a newbie writer. I've been reading books on marketing Kindle books. These have been really helpful. Probably one of the best bits of advice I've gotten is to worry more about getting reviews than sales. With this in mind, the best way to get reviews is to do a free promotion for your book. I'm going to do this but am still figuring out where to best promote the giveaway. Anybody have suggestions? ~D

Thanks Liz! It was a successful day. Some marketer I am, hah, I forgot to tell the title. I think I'm a little tired (!) It's The Covington Witches. I'm selling it exclusively on my website until June. It's a serialized novel so I'll sell the print compilation on Amazon when the series is completed. Then I'll start all over again with the second book in the series. I'm in for a roller coaster! www.covingtonwitches.com

I did a giveaway here on Goodreads and another on Booklikes. I also offered review copies randomly to people who signed up through my mailing list on the website. Those people were followers on twitter mainly. I like the idea of maintaining my own mailing list so I can keep in touch with readers. I've been very pleased that people have taken the time to review the book. It's not a short process that's for sure and you really have to be patient and realize people have so many things vying for their attention it's hard to find time to read and review.

Roz how do you get reviews from books that you give away? I understand if it's free on Amazon but what if I got a few hard copies to give away....any idea?

message 21: by Roz (new)

Roz Carter (rozcar) | 5 comments Liz, I haven't given away any hardcopies yet -- the Goodreads winners will be the first to receive the print book. I've given out many copies of my book in electronic format. I've read that a way to ask for reviews with print books is to have a card (business card?, bookmarks?) with the url where you'd like a reader to leave a review (Amazon, etc). I haven't tried it but I probably will at some point! Or, if you ask people you give print books to to sign up for your mailing list you can then politely ask for a review that way.

Hi everyone!

For anyone who read Love Is Relative, I just wanted to give you an update that Love Is Absolute will be released next Wednesday, February 12th and will be available in the Kindle store.

If anyone has discovered ways to promote the release (not a price promotion) of your book, any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I am a novice when it comes to social media but I know some of you have great blogs and a twitter following and offer support to independent authors. Any support would be awesome.

Thank you!
Haven

Here is a poem about my books, a taste of my writing talent. It's called Full Moon Bloodlust.

When the moonlight strikes me, I am filled with power. In an evil age, in my darkest hour. Death and Destruction are the pleasures of my life. A lonely life filled with agony. Here I stand upon this Ledge with sword in hand I hereby pledge. That in the full moon's waning light. I shall make my Sacrifice. The Fog drifts down the hills into my dark domain. My senses sharp and I Insane. Into the woods I go with the moonlight as my guide. I now creep like the mist and from my wrath you can not hide. I shall avenge all I have lost. Behold the coming of death with your now ending immortal life. I shall make my sacrifice. Unto the goddess of the night. I shall make my sacrifice.

Avin Prakash | 1 comments Hey guys,
I am a new author, probably the youngest here. I am 13 years old and I have written a science fiction book named cross traps battle of transoid, and well, I got it self published. My novel is about a space scientist who actually manages to break the bonds of dimension and time and reach an extremely dangerous place- Transoid. Well, the story goes on with the protagonist fighting an enemy. The book is a part of series of three and till now, only one is out. As I am a new writer, it's quite tough to find suggestions and honest feedback, which will actually help me to improve. So I will be highly grateful if you guys will read and comment on my novel. For this, I am even going to run a free book campaign on kindle if you all wish, but I need your support. Please help me. Thank you. The link is below. The second link is of Wattpad, which is free. And also, my book is absolutely free with kindle unlimited. I hope you all will enjoy reading it.
