I just started and I already love Calaena and I'm having a lot of fun whenever she talks with someone, not necessarily Chaol or Dorian, but the guards too.

Danielle and I decided to read 10 chapters a day, if anybody wants to join us. We did it so when discussing we were more or less on the same page.

Here are my thought about what I read yesterday:

Ever since chapter 6 I've been wondering if there is more about Calaena than we know. (view spoiler)[Apart from being an assassin, she mentioned Faes and people who had magic, her being one of those, but she couldn't anymore. I'm thinking, especially after reading chapter 25, (view spoiler)[whether she has a bigger role. Either her capabilities are bigger than she thought or she knew someone who did. (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 16:(view spoiler)[I clapped Calaena once we discovered while she snapped during her time in Endovier. I like than even though she is an assassin, she has her morals and is a good person. And, like she says, the king has murdered more people than she has, innocent people, and no one looks at him like they look at her. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 20: (view spoiler)[Could Sam still be alive? We only know that he, too, was betrayed. If he were alive, he probably would think she was dead too. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 23: (view spoiler)[ I seriously thought Nox was getting kicked out. First, I was scared about him dying, but then Calaena pulled a Tarzan and saved him. I was so glad, not only because I like Nox but because Calaena risked her position by saving him, her friend. So I thought that they wouldn't put Ned into the rakning as he died and Nox would go. And so much for keeping a low profile. Even though she finished the second-to-last, she showed a wider range of her capabilities than if she just took the easy way to the flag. (hide spoiler)]

Just finished chapter 23. (view spoiler)[ i love the friendship between Celaena and Nehemia. I find it very funny. It doesent seem like the prince really likes being a prince. I couldn't keep the pace at the beginning but then I got into the book and couldn't stop reading!

@Jora I thought the same about (view spoiler)[the challenges. At the beginning, they were just aiming at a target but then things got serious. And she manages to keep up with all of those challenges even though they're so different.

I like their friendship too. I was so glad that she had someone in the castle with whom she could just relax. (hide spoiler)]

I didn't expect the book to have any magic elements, but I like that aspect, it offers a lot of possibilities.

I was so surprised about Nehemia's attitude. I thought that maybe someone was controlling or posing as her. I doubted her and didn't know who to trust.

I want Nehemia to start teaching Calaena everything too. At the beginning, I wasn't sure what to think of her character, I liked her but it wasn't very interesting, but now she trully is and I'm eager to learn more about wyrdmarks.
I wonder what kind of jobs will Calaeana have to accept from the king. And whether she'll do something to help Nehemia's people, and how.
