I was internally screaming when the whole plan with Lysandra pretending to be Aelin was revealed. And also when Elena's whole giant f*ckup was revealed. (Although I'd kinda already assumed that the Lock business would end with Aelin sacrificing her life because fantasy tropes) Most of my experience reading the last 100 pages was just internal screaming and I finished reading it at 4am in the morning.

I can't believe people who read this when it was being released had to wait 2 whole years to read the continuation in KoA! 😱 (hide spoiler)]

Well I'm already at Chapter 9 - I'm not sure how far in that is. I did not realize that book 6 wouldn't pick up right where book 5 left off. It instead cuts to Chaol's story. I'm down to put it on pause till the first and I'll just pick up page points for the rest next month I guess. Now that I'm realizing we won't get anything about Aelin's predicament I'm not near as stoked to get through this lol.

Finished: Despite being upset in the beginning of this book that we weren't diving right back into Aelin's... problems.. I have to say that the author really pulled this one off. It was still really good. (view spoiler)[ I did audio for this book really just to try it out since I've not done audio on any of these before. It was pretty good but I have to admit that I went 5 chapters not realizing who the book was about since the narrator pronounced names different than I had been pronouncing them in my head. Chaol I had been reading like Cole.. the narrator pronounced it Kay-O-el... or something along those lines.. Super through me for a while. There were several places where a name would throw me throughout the story but I don't blame the narrator for it.. I mean we are so far into the story I had just developed some bad habits I guess.

At first I was really thinking this may be one of those books in the series where you could basically skip it and not miss much.. but as the story progressed we really got some crazy reveals here that I feel like will super impact the rest of the story. I don't think its really skip able anymore. Great read! (hide spoiler)]
