Like if the gods didn't give Aelin anything why did she even bother returning them to their world? She sacrificed her power for like nothing ugh. I don’t think she’s behind the murders or that she’s a “bad guy.” Still think she has some greater agenda. I hate Kaltain. Can someone kill her off already? (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[WTF, I knew Cain was no good from page 1. How is he able to summon the ridderak? Wyrdmarks seem to be very powerful. Of course Princess Nehemia FTW. I knew she wasn’t bad. The book got a little slow when we took a departure from the competition to more mundane stuff like the puppy and sparring. Like ok, Celaena and Dorian are in love, we get it. Of course, I knew the final battle was going to be between Celaena and Cain. What a cheap move to drug her though. I hate Kaltain more than I hate Cain. And is she a crack head?? What is that about? How Princess Nehemia summoned Queen Elena through the Wyrdmarks makes me think that she’s not a ghost, just living in another portal. Now that she got rid of Celaena’s poison, I think she’s going to make a comeback and kick Cain’s ass. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Obviously, she won the competition. Thank God Cain was killed. Of course, Nehemia is an ally. And I called it that she was there for her own agenda. This portal thing is cool and I'm interested to see more magic. What's the deal with the king and the duke? They manipulated Kaltain with crack?? LOL so confused by that whole part. Although Celaena broke up with Dorian, I think they're still gonna be a thing. I wonder what kind of missions the kind is going to have Celaena do. Excited to continue the series!! Also, predicting that the glass castle is going to shatter at some point in this series.. (hide spoiler)]

The Assassin and the Pirate Lord

(view spoiler)[I really like how Celaena is kind of immature in this novella-- it's such a contrast from the last book in the series I read, Queen of Shadows. She acts young because she's only 16 in this part, which totally makes sense and is a nice touch.
I liked The Assassin and the Pirate Lord because it shows Celaena before she was sent to the work camp and then the palace. My favorite part was the bar fight-- that was so funny! I also liked when Celaena and Sam managed to free all of the slaves by forging a letter from Rolfe. He's an evil pirate lord! (hide spoiler)]

The Assassin and the Healer

(view spoiler)[This novella was so short, but I really liked it because it showed the contrast between Celaena, an assassin, and Yrene, a healer. I thought the message was cool, and the part at the end where Celaena gives Yrene the gold coins and her pendant was awesome. I wish we would see more of Yrene sometime, but I'm glad she left the White Pig for good and moved on to find a better life. (hide spoiler)]

The Assassin and the Desert

(view spoiler)[I can't believe that Ansel was a traitor-- I wasn't expecting that at all! Again, I really liked this novella. The fact that Celaena traveled all the way to the desert was pretty cool because in the main Throne of Glass books, she seems to generally stay in the same place. The Mute Master was an interesting character, and I was surprised when he started talking at the end. The novellas keep getting better as the book goes on, I think.

The Assassin and the Underworld

(view spoiler)[I don't understand what the word "Underworld" from the title referred to in this story-- was it the sewers that Celaena was left in to die, or was it something else? That was so cruel that those assassins tied her up in the sewers to drown-- and it was also pretty gross. This was the first time in this book that Celaena truly thought she was going to die, and it was dramatic. I loved it!
Of course, I also loved the part where Sam confessed his love for Celaena. And she accepted his confession! (hide spoiler)]

No idea how I'm feeling about this Rowan guy since its still the beginning and hoping to get to know him more. Love how SJM introduce Sorcha who has been cleaning all the wounds for Dorian, Chaol and Celaena. Can't wait to get to know her more too!! As for the plot i think it's slowly increasing. Chapter 1-7

(view spoiler)[Gosh, I was so excited to start this book after Crown of Midnight. I totally fell in love with the series. I do have to admit the first +/- 35 pages were a bit tough to get through. I expected a really interesting beginning, but this beginning to me was just a bit boring honestly. Celaena seemed to just not care about anything anymore, whilst at the end of Crown I felt like she was ready to fight in honor of Nehemia. But after the slow start I am now back in the story again and loving it! The next 35 pages were so much more exciting. I love that the witches get a bigger part in the story, I was really curious about them! And the king wanting them to ride the wyverns? gosh, that could bring big trouble! I am very annoyed about Chaol and Dorian their relationship, basically pretending the other one doesn't exist doesn't help. Chaol already knows Dorian has magic, so they should just work together. If Chaol was questioned by the king, he already has enough information to get Dorian in trouble (The bare fact he has magic) so Dorian giving Chaol more information about his magic and what is going on doesn't make matters that much worse. Don't let a girl get in between your friendship. Just make up and save the world already! ;) (hide spoiler)]

Okay, the book has gotten so much better. I am mostly curious where this relationship between Dorian and Sorscha will lead them, I am so happy for Dorian he found someone again that can help, that he can trust. But I just hope it doesn't end with Sorscha's head on a chopping block...

Also, Manon choosing Abraxos felt so right. To me Titus felt like this big bully, and Abraxos defeating him felt so right. Even smaller, less trained beings can be extremely powerful, it also about what is inside. The drive that you have, how much you want it.

Oh, and skinwalkers totally give me the creeps.

So much is happening in this book! First of all I am still very sad all the slaves in Endovier and Calaculla getting slaughtered, we are really dealing with an terribly evil king.

I love Rowan and Celaena getting along better now, and Celaena even calling him her friend! They have something special and I believe his training can bring out everything Celaena has to offer.

Also, those evil things in the caves make me feel very uneasy! I am really curious what they are and how to actually kill one! I really wonder what more nightmare inducing creatures we are going to be introduced to!

I also really hope this book doesn't end with almost all Fae and demi-fae being killed. :/

Gosh, I just finished and I have so many feelings now!
Firstly, I love Chaol for saving fleetfoot. He is my hero.
Secondly, I hated Sorscha got murdered. Even though I kinda saw it coming, it still broke my heart. She seemed to be so right for Dorian and such a good human being, even helping the rebels! Also, Rowan is free and traveling with Celaena/Aelin! But I am not sure tying him to her with a blood oath is such a smart idea, can't that guy ever be free? :') He needs a lady to serve apperently! Also I totally was into the fight against the Vagl princes, that was so exciting. And now everyone knows she is alive! Yes yes yes! So much happened in this book! So much thought! So much difficulty to write everything down!

My favorite character in the book is Abraxos, he seems to be such a magical creature. And not only that, he seems to have the mind of a human. I love a good connection between a human and a animal(/beast). I love the dynamic between Manon and Abraxos, also Fleetfoot and Celaena/Aelin.(No seriously, I am confused what name to use now!)

The confrontation at the end of the book between the king and Dorian, Aedion, Sorscha and Chaol was so sad! I hope they can free Dorian and Aedion quickly, I need them back. They can both do great things and don't deserve to be manipulated and captured by the king. Such a shame the king caught onto their plans just one day before leaving. I also really wonder if Manon will be a 'bad' witch or if she will turn around in one of the following books. She seems to have something human in her, which the other witches seem to be lacking. I am very interested to see where her story will lead us.
