I finally got why everyone loved Manon in this book. She kicked some serious ass and I loved how she actually adapted to her new life and is taking a stand. I fell in love with characters that I didn't expect to like and now I'm just so torn because I know the next book doesn't pick up where this one left off, but it's Chaol and I love him so. These will contain spoilers for each whole novella story since I didn't have time to update while I was reading.
The Assassin and the Pirate Lord (view spoiler)[ I was kind of upset with Arobynn for not telling Sam and Celaena what they were actually there for, but Arobynn's a dick so not surprised. I'm glad Sam pretended and get them out of the tense situation. Also, I think Celaena should free the slaves, but she should have told Sam about her plan in the first place. Seeing Sam almost lose it while Rolfe was talking about the slave children was so heartbreaking. I'm glad they're going to free them. And Celaena should try to be a little nicer to Sam. Okay now here goes the plan. Good thing Celaena found someone on one ship that could translate. The bar fight was fun, but oh no Rolfe is onto them! Celaena can definitely take care of him tho right? I was so worried when that tower collapsed, like where was SAM!?! So glad he didn't die and they got the chain down in time for the slaves to row out. (hide spoiler)]

The Assassin and the Healer (view spoiler)[ I love how short this story is. Yrene is a such a nice girl, I hope she does finally get to Antica. The bar sounds horrid, glad Celaena doesn't stay there long. I loved Celaena teaching Yrene some self defense moves, smart idea. But then she made her apply it while her life was in danger!! Crazy move! I was surprised when Celaena gave Yrene all that money so she could get to the southern continent. Celaena can be nice. (hide spoiler)]

The Assassin and the Desert (view spoiler)[ All I have to say about this is I would die in the heat and I really wish Ansel had found a different solution to her problems. She seemed like such a nice girl but then she tried to kill everyone basically :( (hide spoiler)]

At least she got a good sneak suit out of his guilt, but damn I fucking hate Arobynn so damn much. He'll get what's coming to him. Also, I don't understand why Celaena hates Lysandra so much. Like she's doing what she's told, she didn't choose to be a courtesan. But FINALLY SAM AND CELAENA YAS (hide spoiler)]

Is Assassin's Blade where you're starting the whole series? If so, I don't think I would start with it. I read it before Empire of Storms, which is what I was told when to read it lol. I don't think it really matters, but definitely before Empire of Storms :)
