The “Cutthroat Competitor Cupcake” is coming!

This is a cupcake that’s NOT fooling around.
Hard to conquer, but your BAPs will surely mound.

You thought the “Triple Threat” was hard to earn?
This one’s NOT vinegar; yet, neither is it sauterne.

This cupcake counts as ‘cuatro’ – which translates to four.
With a 350,000-word-endurance, these books are worth tons more.

This Captain will give you four BAPs to really increase your points.
After all that page turning, this isn’t one that disappoints.

Looks like a romance is starting to blossom,
and the ‘show and tell’ turned out awesome.

What a coincidence; here’s the butterfly again.
And looks like the hero was nothing more than a friend.
Because this dude is blond, with a little more muscle.
If you’re not you getting all these, you'd better hussle.

This puzzle’s just a little more difficult.
Be sure the puzzle is “square” in cut, and 240 pieces.
Still, we’re sure you’ll love the end result:
Two for one, with many BAPs increases.

PUZZLE #137: Jigsaw puzzle “September BOMs” - here.
Be sure to change the total pieces under "Change Cut" to "240 Pieces Square."

Okay to post in thread.

Yes, indeed! This puzzle is worth one “Cutthroat Competitor Cupcake”
and one “chunkster” cupcake .

If you’ve read a few classic romances,
One with a few significance glances.
You’ll get this one without a clue.
Which will be quite a coup.

Announcement:

With regards to “Cutthroat Competitor Cupcakes,” 350,000 words = 1,400 pages.

However, keep in mind that for some of the longer books they squeeze more words on per page. We go by word count first, when we can find it, then refer to WorldCat.

Sooooo... that is why sometimes you will see an 800 or 900 page book count as a “Cutthroat Competitor.”

Also, your Captain has a link to a list of approved books, to which we will continue to add. Thus far they are:
An American Tragedy
Atlas Shrugged)
A Breath of Snow and Ashes
The Civil War, Vol. 1: Fort Sumter to Perryville
The Count of Monte Cristo
A Dance With Dragons
The Fiery Cross
A Storm of Swords
It
Les Misérables
Sacajawea
Voyager
The Wise Man's Fear

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 5588 comments So, do we have to earn a cupcake in order ot get extra credit for an approved doorstopper? Or how is that working? What puzzle earns the cupcake for that? And if we have to earn the cupcake, can we use it on books already read? I read Atlas Shrugged back in May.

(wonder if it's worth it or just easier to read 3 shorter books).

Yes. You must earn the appropriate cupcake first, before redeeming.

"What puzzle earns the cupcake for that?"

Any puzzle with this symbol is a “Cutthroat Competitor Cupcake.”

"And if we have to earn the cupcake, can we use it on books already read? I read Atlas Shrugged back in May."

Yes, any books FINISHED since April 12th, with the appropriate word count.

message 91: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 5588 comments So there is a reason Vicky is handling Pewter Blues cupcakes, because I just cannot wrap my brain around them.

Using my book from May, Atlas Shrugged: is it worth earning a redeeming a cupcake for it if we have already used a cupcake to get extra credit for it before? Or is it better for me to say read a new doorstopper for the new cupcake?
