Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel's story is about to be completely rewritten.

Let's chat. =)

I have a feeling the book that Hazel mentions and reads a lot, "An Imperial Affliction" is a foreshadowing the outcome of her own story. (view spoiler) Oh, that's going to make me so sad.

I also love how her mom is always following her but in a non-smothering way. Just a kind gesture of worrisome on her part.

Katya Not sure if you are familiar with the author's Youtube activity....I've been watching him for years.

He and his brother run several youtube channels the most famous one being "The Vlog Brothers" and that group of fans (Nerd fighters) have raised all sorts of money for charities. This book was not based on but was inspired by a real fan of the video blog.

Their motto is: DFTBA....or Don't forget to be awesome!

Oh! That is awesome. I never knew that! I've watched their videos in the past and always thought they were brilliant.

I have a friend from Youtube who I was shocked to see also wrote a book. Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (Miss Peregrine, #1) by Ransom Riggs

Youtube really is the start of everything nowadays *smh*

LOL Small world! I did a double take to see that he published a book, I was all proud and stuff knowing that we talked back and forth years ago and he is subbed to my channel on Youtube LOL. He makes AWESOME shorts. I had no idea he published a book until I was walking around in the bookstore and saw a familiar name on a cool cover. Went home to look up the ratings on the book and was shocked to see it was the same dude.
It really makes you realize that if you just work hard at your dreams, it will come!

Katya I thought the best part of The Fault in our Stars was the end. The one thing that she wanted out of life....was given to her by the person who made the most difference in her life...if not indirectly. It was a perfect ending.

John Green is the King of Quotes:

I also love the line: "My thoughts are stars I can't fathom into constellations."

And

"You don't get to choose if you get hurt in this world...but you do get say in who hurts you...I like my choices."

LOVE IT!

I have been marking my favorite lines in this book as I go, as well. I have been giggling, crying, gasping. This book is just so raw.
