In truth they run major scams and are some of the richest people in the city, so their true nature is still a secret.

And yes your book can count for secret societies.
@Carolien: I will look into task 7. Did you read something for task 24 or not, because it looks like you you did in message 13.
@Jennifer: What makes that book an alternate history?

Re: A Connecticut Yankee - The book is classified on both Goodreads and Wikipedia as an alternate history.
In it, a Yankee engineer from Connecticut is accidentally transported back in time to the court of King Arthur, where he fools the inhabitants of that time into thinking he is a magician—and soon uses his knowledge of modern technology to become a "magician" in earnest, stunning the English of the Early Middle Ages with such feats as demolitions, fireworks and the shoring up of a holy well. He attempts to modernize the past, but in the end he is unable to prevent the death of Arthur and an interdict against him by the Catholic Church of the time, which grows fearful of his power.
I just want to check before I use the book and then find out it is not relevant...
Thanks

I would hate to say no, but the trouble is that Arthur is not really a historical figure but more a mythological figure. So how is that an alternate history?

Wait wasn't Arthur real? There is a lot of myth around him, but I thought he was still real?
Gonna google :)
Gonna google :)
No sorry to disappoint there not even sure in what period he could have lived. But there are many gaps in the list of kings before Aethelred. So he might fir in somewhere but then again stories about him only surfaced centuries after he supposedly lived so it is all very vaguem

Completed the challenge
Nicely don to everyone who has finished. I will do a stats thing later and this challenge is now closed! I hope you all had fun.
You're very welcome. I just hope you enjoyed it and especially in the special format that it had.

Too bad I just couldn't finish my last 3 tasks, but I got far at least.
Thanks!
Still something to be proud off. And since you didn't get all the tasks up front it was a lot harder to finish.
