There wasn't much character development, he played the stereotypical "childhood friend" who has a crush on the protagonist, and gets brushed aside as an afterthought by the protagonist's true love. Did something foolish to prove his affections to no avail.
He was seen shortly in the company of other girls, he was pretty loyal and unobtrusive as personalities goes. No character growth or development, no back story, besides the fact that he was a cocky moron teenager who bit off more than he could chew by overestimating his own limited capabilities. He had no series of side-quests or adventures to become better, unless you consider death better. Did we even learn about his parents or siblings, anything besides 2 or 3 of his friends that was mentioned in passing. Did we even see him through an entire class at the academy like we did Rose and Lissa? I suppose we saw him for a few minutes at the ski resort. What does he like to do in his free time? Hobbies? Special skills? Interests? What were his likes and dislikes.
I know, but because he is not in the book that much, i want more of hinm.
all that only makes him more mysterious.guys don't fall for our personality at 1st sight, they go for our looks and actions. and the same goes for the girls.
so what?? sure we don't know alot about mason, but rose did, and for those of us that connected with rose knew what it was like when he died.

I did. I really felt for Mason and was really sad and then I cried for about 10 minutes, and then I read on.

lol i hated lissa cuz she was a pian in the behind. but i loathed her when she didn't even TRY to help rose
I know, that was HORRIBLE. True friends help out each other and when Lissa was using compultion to get her to stay, I wanted to KILL her!! And how Lissa kept saying "You can't go" Like Lissa controled her every move.

i miss mason. i might read the 1st book again just to read about him lol
