Do you agree with Stephen King that the writers strike has caused more people to be involved in politics this election? I do believe I have watched more debates then usual.

I will start posting King's Entertainment Weekly articles and if anyone wants to add their two cents feel free to do so!

Feb 13th King article:

http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20258...

I love 24 and have to agree with King on this one.

message 4: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 701 comments I've never really gotten into 24 but i agree with the point King is trying to make.

message 5: by Kandice (new)

Kandice | 3875 comments I subscribe to this magazine just so I can save his articles! How Annie Wilkes is that? I really enjoy them, though.

message 6: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 701 comments I remember back when he was the only columnist and they had all this bs in the back when they didn't run a column that was really stupid. I'm glad they came to their senses. I've been subscribing since i was 14.

Did you ever notice if you go to EW's website King doesn't even have a description about himself... no words needed!

Rachel | 701 comments Um I had that freecreditreport.com commercial stuck in my head all weekend cuz of this column!

message 23: by Kandice (new)

Kandice | 3875 comments Unfortunately, both of my sons play it on their guitars ALL THE TIME and, between the two of them, have memorized the words to all the versions, so Uncle Stevie didn't hurt or help me with that particular earworm!

message 24: by Angie, Constant Reader (new)

Angie | 2528 comments Mod
Earworms are the worst when I am laying there trying to go to sleep. I mean what the hell?

Not such a fan of Michael, but it is sad. He did check out too soon, honestly. It's nice when so many people can come up with good things about someone when so much bad was said about them. Too bad it had to be posthumously.

message 32: by Angie, Constant Reader (new)

Angie | 2528 comments Mod
The experience King had with Michael is just weird!

message 33: by LinBee (new)

LinBee Yeah, the carpet thing was a bit strange. But hey, most artists that are worth their salt are usually completely off their rockers anyway!

Wow, never even heard of that music video . . . was it ever finished? I'd like to see it. Must say the carpet thing was hella weird, who knows what he was on then. I loved MJ's music, not so much the person. But I am sad that we'll never hear another song from him again.

This is it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaGoKc...

I have actually seen it on VH1 before around Halloween time. Love the dancing skeleton!

That link is the short version. I think the whole version is 20 minutes or so... here is part 1:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzYnPU...

part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25_BuV...

part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u97iHj...

part 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Cjoh0...

The whole thing is rather quite good!

message 36: by Moon (new)

Moon I liked the recent article about time spent in front of the computer. I thought it was funny how he added how he hoped to live another ten years, twenty if he didn't get hit by any more minivans.

message 37: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 701 comments haha yeah, that made me laugh too

Patrick (horrorshow) | 62 comments I am glad I read Richard Yates's Revolutionary Road. It is a excellent written book and did have some horrifying elements near the end in which one orderly commented to another, a dark bit of dialogue...
