Ugh, never say considering that he's actually in my league, you are in whatever league you put yourself in chica! I'm sure you are a beautiful person. Secondly, next time he's around have you're arms loaded with books and make a big deal out of their weight (if he offers to carry them you have a knight in shining armor) If he doesn't then stop at a door and look pointedly at a handle, like "ohh, too many books, I'll never get this door open." (if he takes the hint he's a gentleman)
Secondly you're a little young, no offence I'm sure you're very mature, but maybe you should just ask the guy to hang out with you, and by the time you're ready to seriously date you'll be best buddies and you can just ask him to take you out on a date, if it works yay!... if not, you'll have a guy friend who can introduce you to other attractive males your age. :)
It's a win-win situation

If you just want to know if he likes you back, ASK HIM! If he publicly turns you down, boo him, SO not worth your time, If he doesn't... there you go.

I know- I'm not really old enough to go around looking for boyfriends, but I have a twin sister and she has a boyfriend *sigh* I know, I know, I shouldn't let her decisions influence mine - Its just kinda hard when everyone's asking you if your still dating Dalton, then realize you're "the single one"

My friends have already tried asking him if he likes me, but he always makes an excuse and runs off to his guys friends *sigh*

YOU HAVE A TWIN?! oh I'm so jealous, I just have a crotchety older sister. She's the same height, but done growing (jealousy) weighs about 20+ pounds lighter than me (jealousy, seriously what kind of 5'4'' girl only weighs like a hundred pounds?! her waist is MINUSCULE!) and WAY more charismatic (jealousy, what's so great about a shy, mean pretty girl... wait... that answers itself.) Some people say we look alike, which is true-ish, she's like the upgraded version of me, everyone drops me to get her, I can't even bring my friends over because they'll just sit and fawn over her.

I'm a triplet (brother and sister) and I don't have any younger or older siblings, but I wish I do. My friends want me to get a boyfriend but I don't really care. Me and my sister, we both have blonde hair and blue eyes, and so people often get us mixed up, but I'm 6 inches shorter, 9kg lighter (don't know how many pounds that is) and people tell me I'm prettier but I don't think so.
