My copy has 54 chapters and about 550 pages

I really plan to take this slow, so unless I feel REALLY compelled to keep reading (if the plot just suddenly sucks me in...) then I just plan to read 5 chapters tomorrow and then post.

Does everyone just want to do the check back every 5 chapters?

or do we want to try to do 100 pages a day, 10 chapters?

Okay, silly me gave my daughter my charger because I got myself a new NOOK and figured I could use my new one. Well, I don't have this book on my new one because it was a freebie from the author, so I have to read it on my old one. Cross your fingers for me that my 57% battery lasts me for the five chapters at least. LOL

Confirmation for what I read: (view spoiler)[ Okay, so Ismae was (I'm assuming) forced to marry the jerk, but she escaped the consummation of their marriage, right? The priest helps her escape to a convent where the nuns are not what I ever thought nuns were like. LOL She goes to the convent of St. Mortain where she meets sisters that serve the gods of old and she learns that she was given a special gift/gifts of killing others, whoever the god of Death desires to die. She decided to stay and be trained in killing, and I think she does so to prevent her having to return to her beloved hubby or her father. At first I thought she was the daughter of Death, but not sure about that. (hide spoiler)]

Ismae (view spoiler)[ She is a daughter of Death, but his name is St. Mortain in the story. He came to her mother one night, but I don't think she goes into that, I don't remember. Her mother tried to kill Ismae when she was still carrying her and that is how she has the red stain/scar on her back(?), I think that's where it is.
