Evie helped bind the spirit of Naughty John. Bill is still roaming, and he will cause trouble in the future. Will wants to send Evie back to her parents for her own protection. Like, there’s been a murder, but there’s been no progress toward solving it. we’ve also gotten random people spouting prophecies about diviner’s. I don’t know, I just want the action to start. I know! There’s murders going on, and she just flounces around and into the crime scenes. Like come on, I love a strong heroine, but make her think with her brain at least!

(view spoiler)[ I honestly don’t feel anything for this book. Like, it was a waste of my time, but I don’t even dislike it that much, I just regret reading it. I hate Evie, and although the setting of this was super promising, it just got drowned out with irritating phrases. Also, no one in this thought logically. The police literally arrested everyone who could’ve possibly been involved, no matter how unlikely, and did virtually nothing for the murder. Evie made so many stupid decisions, but somehow survived. I’m still mad that she kissed Jericho, because Mabel never even shot her shot. I get that Jericho doesn’t have feelings for him, but it’s just selfish and rude.

I didn’t really care about any of the other characters. I really feel like the author tried to do too much, and ended up with a mess. We had the colliding plots of the Diviner’s, the murders, and Evies easy life. I’m definitely not going to be reading the next one, it’s not something I’m interested in at all (hide spoiler)]

I might give this one a miss. I am not very invested in the story so far. It is definitely not something I would usually read. None of the characters interest me. The only thing that I like is the period in which it is set and the terrible characters ruin that for me!

Yah, I felt about the same. I’d say, if you’re not interested in it now, just dnf it. I regret trying this again, it fell completely short
