"Avery," he said, a bit awkwardly as he fumbled with the leash to shake his hand- finding this all too weird.

"See you around I guess." Chris smiled and went down on his knees to shake the dogs hand. His cheek brushed against Avery's pants though he himself didn't notice

[Morgan]

He shivered softly at the feel of him so close, before shaking his head. "Yup. Bye." Avery said, clearing his throat as he continued to walk down the path.

The dog wouldn't walk, grabbing onto Chris's jeans. Chris smirked "told you I'm special." He teased the man

[Morgan]

He shook his head, tugging on the leash a little bit. "She doesn't know any better." Avery told him, smiling slightly.

The dog wouldn't let go. Chris eventually said "Would you like to get lunch? It's my treat. That way the dog'll get sick of me and'll let go." Chris invited the man

[Morgan]

"Uh, you don't even know me. Couldn't that be a little dangerous?" Avery asked with a slightly playful smile, already knowing there was no way he'd be able to say no.

Chris rolled his eyes, hand going to his lip. "Yeah I'm so scared." He said sarcastically, playfulness in his tone, "come on, you pick the place."

[Morgan]

He rolled his eyes, "You should be." Avery told him. "Hmm, well it should be somewhere outside so Takari can get bored of you, there's this cute little diner a few blocks away, let's go." Avery said, stuffing his hand in his pocket so he wouldn't reach for Chris' hand as he walked down the path towards his truck.

Chris shoved him playfully and ran ahead to the mans truck. The dog followed him, getting off his leash

Avery watched him curiously, laughing softly as he opened the back door to let the dog in before getting in the front.

Chris got into the truck, smiling softly. He took a deep breath, before adjusting his seat belt

[Morgan]

"So tell me more about yourself Christian." Avery said as he started up the car, turning on the radio to a low volume. He wondered what Chris had been up to.

"I'm 23." He said, shifting to look at Avery "and I just entered grad school." He added

[Morgan]

He shrugged his shoulders. "Well that's pretty general. Tell me more." Avery said.

"Well for one thing you can call me Chris. Second, aren't I supposed to be scared of you?" He laughed, an echoing sound, and raised his eyebrow

[Morgan]

"Okay Chris..." Avery said with a grin. "And maybe, but you obviously wouldn't have gotten in my truck if you were scared." He pointed out.

Chris nodded in agreement "Very true. Alright, um I'm a film major and I live with this guy, by best friend, Zac. Maybe you know him he's been in town for a year." He rambled

[Morgan]

He paused, wondering if Chris remembered Zac after the crash. Avery sighed softly, knowing he couldn't simply ask that- he was a stranger. "Nah, never heard of him." He replied, turning the corner and stopping in the parking lot.

"I suppose you wouldn't. He's real quiet." He added, getting out and letting the dog out too

[Morgan]

"Ah, i don't socialize with many people unless they're close to me." He said, hopping out of the car and following him, asking the waitress for a table for two outside.

"You socialize with me?" He raised an eyebrows as he sat

[Morgan]

"Ah, that's just 'cause your cute." Avery said with a wink. "That and extremely special." He told him a hint of sarcasm in his voice.

"Please! I'm fuckin gorgeous." Chris joked, waving his hand in the hair

[Morgan]

He smirked, rolling his eyes as he took a seat. "Of course you are."

The waitress came back for their orders

[Morgan]

Avery quickly looked over the menu before ordering a steak with mushrooms on the side as well as a simple water. The girl smiled, leaning over to pet Takari when she spotted her under the table, cooing at her like an idiot before turning her attention to Chris and asking for his order.

"Just a burger please with soda." Chris ordered, finding he couldn't eat that much on the menu.

Avery smiled as she left, glad she only came back a few seconds later with their waters.

"Now tell me about you, Avery." Chris asked, leaning slightly forward. He had his eyes on the dog though he was listening to the man

[Morgan]

He shrugged. "There's nothing to really tell." Avery said, pursing his lips slightly.

"Oh no don't even try that." Chris objected "tell me, who the hell are you?" He asked, petting the dog softly. She was on his lap almost

[Morgan]

He laughed softly, shaking his head. "But there really isn't besides you know i'm 43 and have had the same job for millions of years." Avery told him, being vague, as Chris was when he answered the question.

Chris almost looked uncomfortable for a second when he said his age though relaxed after a moment "you're old." He joked

[Morgan]

He rolled his eyes, "Thanks so much." Avery said dryly before giving him a small wink, "But i still get the ladies."

Chris laughed "ain't nobody want yo ass!" He shoved him laughing, the dog rolling on the floor.

[Morgan]

Avery bit his lip to hold back a comment as he rolled his own eyes. "Sure."

The waitress came back with their food. As soon as she left Chris cut his burger in half "can she have some?" He asked Avery,

"Uh, a little, not that whole half. Mark's very strict about what she can eat." He told him, gently petting her between her soft ears before taking a sip from his water and cutting into the steak.

"Who's Mark?" Chris questioned, cutting the half into halfs, giving the small portion to the dog who ate gladly

[Morgan]

"My uh, boyfriend?" He said it in a slightly questioning tone. Him and Mark didn't really put a label on it.

Chris paused softly, a slight ache shooting through him. For some strange reason he help hurt. Playing it off he said "I told you ain't no ladies want you." He laughed

[Morgan]

He laughed softly, pushing around the food on his plate. "No it makes them want me even more." Avery told him teasingly.

"Pssh! Swerv grandpa!" He rolled his eyes at the man, taking a huge bite of burger

[Morgan]

Avery sighed softly, muttering something under his breath. "So what about you and this Zac kid, just friends?" He asked with a smile as he leaned back in his seat.

Chris help up his hand before speaking as he was chewing. After what seemed like forever he finally said, "I'm not sure." He shrugged. He was relaxed as the dig rubbed his leg though he wouldn't budge and give her more food

"Mmm, and how'd you meet?" He asked curiously, wanting to know more about what happened after the accident.

Chris looked unsure, "Uh like, we met last year. He's a family friend." He improvised. He started eating his burgers

[Morgan]

"Oh." Avery said, none to satisfied with his answer as he silently started eating his own food. He smiled softly down at Takari as she laid her head down on his lap before he finally caved and handed her a piece.

"How olds Mark?" He broke the silence
