I read this book a while back, it was about a guy (he was an architect or a contractor) who was accused of murdering his fiance/wife. The day of his trial, after he was convicted, he escaped and kidnapped this reported in front of the courthouse. He then goes back in the neighborhood where he used to live in an attempt to find the real killer. I remember it was the wife of someone the dead person was sleeping with or something of the sort. I suspect it might have been a Harlequin romance book but I don't remember the book or the writer and it's driving me crazy.
Second book
The plot was about a secret agent that investigates a bomb in a limo (?). One of the people in the limo was a woman (she might have been a reporter, I don't remember) that survived but then she was targeted by the killers. He takes her into hiding, then one of his team members turns out to be the killer and betrays him. I think the book cover was grayish and the title was yellow or something like that (I think the title began with P or R).

Any info would be appreciated.
Many thanks.
